Vertonghen's dive, why soccer is the world's most overated sport!

Well anyone who has seen this must be gob-smacked.

A sport worth trillions of dollars, players worth millions and influencing trillions more in gambling dollars can tolerate such a blatant fraud without penalty or consequence.

Yes
Fair enough then, so as a game and sport you enjoy it, just not the way some players play it.  I know a few people who use the diving reason to bag the game, but in truth they couldn't enjoy it (and admit as much after thinking about it).  It's sad, as it really doesn't happen that often, but when it does I agree it looks bad.  But I accept it as part of the game, and therefore enjoy it  :)

This example is in the Lloyd class of diving  ;D

FFS, Goat as much as I hate Lloyd, as much as we all hate Lloyd, his diving has nothing on this!

I am with GTC on this one, soccer is becoming a joke. I used to love it years ago, back then you would see stuff like this once or twice a season. Now you get a few in each half.

Then there are the blokes who get carried off late in a game and then jump off the stretcher as soon as it gets over the side line, yet another craphouse moment in the world sport!

If the footage wasn't funny enough, I had a great laugh at the commentators and how well I understood most of what they were saying.

Thanks LP. Its as close to cheating as f@#$ is to swearing as far as Im concerned. And not to mention the death rolls when they are tackled. I don't care how many people play it around the world, when it played like that, I'd rather go and watch lawn bowls.

What is wrong with lawn bowls. Have you ever seen these white heads go off at each other when they are angry or when they suspect cheating. ;D

In the AFL that would constitute bringing the game in to disrepute.

I can't believe a game with a world body as powerful as it is could sit back and condone such behaviour on the world stage. If it does then that game is a farce.

I dont see the big deal.

See the farcicle situation between Hampson and Hille from a few years ago, as to why this in isolation should not be seen to be reason to condemn the game.

Two head high contact decisions given within 10 seconds of each other.

As for this happening every week, I doubt it.  This is a once a year proposition at best, and most often the "diving" that people condemn soccer players for, is at worst exaggeration of the foul in order to ensure the ref pays the free kick.
