Phillips had 2 BOGs before this, but kicked the goal of the year to win them the game....and only gets 1 vote.

It appears backmen also get overlooked in this medal. B. Davey had 3 BOGs for us so far. 1 vote from the umps.

Should make mention that in her acceptance speech, Erin Phillips casually thanked her wife, among others. Then pointed out her wife on the table with the rest of the adelaide girls.

LEAPS ahead of the blokes in that regard.

Erin spoke at some length about her family when interviewed by Charlie Pickering.  In the following days there was some discussion about how Erin's openness and the apparent ready public acceptance of her situation may make it easier for blokes to come out.
