Rd 12: Carlton vs GWS
What a win! The 2nd bottom team defeats the top team. Doesn't happen often, so I will enjoy it!

Notes:
[1] The rating, 9.78, is the largest we've had since we were in the finals. This represents a comfortable A-. We may be 18 months into the biggest rebuild in our history, but the players are already showing what it is to beat good teams.
[2] We had 17 vote getters this round. 17! That sort of performance all over the field is very encouraging.
[3] 23 people voted for this game. That is as many as for the corresponding game last year and among the best for the year. If we produce the effort, we may get more people voting.
[4] Looking at our youngsters, there were some solid performances, but the highlight is probably Liam Jones, who played his best ever game for Carlton. Like Alex Silvagni a few weeks back, Jones was not expected to be ABLE to produce like this. His recruiting was roundly criticized (not the least by me). Well, the guy might look similar, but he played totally differently and deserved every vote he got.

Round 13: Carlton vs. Gold Coast
An excellent win.

Notes:
[1] Another very strong result, with a rating of 9.46. This is better than a B+, but not quite an A- and an excellent way to follow up after the GWS game.
[2] There were 18 voters this week, one more than this time last year.
Again, than you all for taking the time to vote. Without, there would be no award.
[3] This week Bryce Gibbs dominated the voting as nobody has since Judd was at his best. A career defining game with over 40 possessions, 2 goals and heaps more.
[4] Blaine Boekhorst got his 1st votes for the year.

Kreuzer has taken over from Murphy as the leader, but the slim margin of 20 votes. And Docherty is now close in 3rd spot, only 300 behind. It could get pretty close by year's end.

Our worst game in many weeks, even though we kept it tight. A pity, considering I don't rate Richmond that highly, but that is another take.

Notes:
[1] We had a distinct drop in the number of voters this week. In recent weeks we've covered 20 easily. This round we struggled to get 17.
[2] Our rating this week was 6.58, much down on the 9's we've been giving lately. 6.58 represents something close to a D-.
[3] 12 players managed votes this weeks, but only a few managed more than  couple of votes.

So near, and yet so far. The story of our season.

[1]   The rating for this game was 8.3, which corresponds to a C+. Considering that we lost, that is a good rating.
[2]    There were 16 voters this week, one up from this time last year, but down on our regular number by around 4.
[3]   13 players got a mention this week, which is pretty impressive. Kerridge made a favourable impression in his 1st game for some time, while Jones continued his good form.

What a disaster!
[1] Only 11 people voted this week, 5 less than last year's game. t is one of the lowest turnouts for the year. But it was in Brisbane and NOT on free to air TV.
I didn't vote: I didn't even see any highlights, let alone a significant portion of the game.
[2] Our rating, 6.82, was also very poor and represented some less than a D.
[3] There were 13 players deemed worthy enough to get a mention. That is actually quite good, but probably represents the 2nd half better than the first.

This was one of our worst performances for 2017; its only peers being the game against Port Adelaide and the 2 games against Richmond. The rating of 5.88 being the 2nd worst of the season. This represents a rating of E-. :(

A typical game this season: just not being able to do it in the end.  We had our chances, but we couldn't make them count.

[1] The rating this week was much higher (8.17, which is between a C and  C+) and that does give a fair indication of what we produced.
[2] 15 different layers managed a mention this week. That does show just how all round this performance was.

Kreuzer probably has it won at this point. A 600+ vote lead with only a few rounds to go suggests he'll win. 2nd and 3rd, however, are very lose indeed. Murphy or Docherty will be 2nd and third, but the order is far from set.
Gibbs and Cripps look pretty safe, but the only certainty is that we will be there.

Another one that got away, probably due to our inability to kick goals with the wind.

[1] The votes were few and far between this week. Only 9 people voted. This is 6 less than last year for the same round. I guess there simply were not enough of us able to see the game, let alone appreciate it enough to vote.

Thanks for all your great work on this crash. Much appreciated.

And yes, a worthy winner for sure. Would not be surprised if Krooz also wins the club B+F.

Well done Crash - although I suspect that Murphy will win the John Nicholls Medal.
