2018 Jim Park Voting Rd 22: Carlton vs Western Bulldogs

For the penultimate time in 2018 the Blues will face the foe. Hopefully we can improve on last week's effort. At least I'll be there to see it.

Remember:
[1] At least 3 players need to get a mention.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player.
[3] Give a rating of team performance. It can be anywhere from A+ to F.
[4] Votes must add up to 15.

I guess it is my turn to start things off. After all, I actually saw today's game.

Team:   C-
We were in the game for 3 quarters.

Votes:
[3]   Kade Simpson
[1.5]   Patrick Cripps
[1.5]   Jacob Weitering
[1.5]   Ciaran Byrne
[1.5]   Caleb Marchbank
[1]   Ed Curnow
[1]   Sam Rowe
[1]   Jed Lamb
[1]   Lochie O’Brien
[0.5]   Matthew Lobbe
[0.5]   Daisy Thomas
[0.5]   Harry McKay
[0.5]   Tom de Koning

Explanations:
[3]   Kade Simpson:   Simmo was brilliant today and slaughtered his opponents and provided great drive from defence.
[1.5]   Patrick Cripps:   Not Crippa’s best game today, but it would be nice if got even 10% of the holding free kicks he deserves to get.
[1.5]   Jacob Weitering:   An excellent return and a good effort in defence. The Dogs’ forwards didn’t get a sniff.
[1.5]   Ciaran Byrne:   Gradually getting back to some decent form, even with a couple of turnovers. He took out his opponent and provided a lot of drive from defence.
[1.5]   Caleb Marchbank:   Probably his best game for the year. He took 11 very good marks and played a much more constructive game.
[1]   Ed Curnow:   Not Ed’s best, but he tried hard and got the ball a lot.
[1]   Sam Rowe:   Really did a job on the Bulldog tall forwards.
[1]   Jed Lamb:   A few mistakes, but overall and excellent effort.
[1]   Lochie O’Brien:   Possibly his best game so far and his kicking was great. Still don’t ike the way he chases.
[0.5]   Matthew Lobbe:      Did a pretty good job in the ruck, but his inability to get hitouts to advantage hurt us a lot. Big heart, but the future does not look impressive.
[0.5]   Daisy Thomas:   A solid effort at halfback with some nice runs from defence.
[0.5]   Harry McKay:   Too some good marks and looked too good for his man.
[0.5]   Tom de Koning:   Tom should be happy with his first up performance.

Honourable Mentions:
Charlie Curnow:      Did have a big day but made a contribution.
Marc Murphy:      Not a great day by Murph, but he did keep at it.
