I heard from a very reliable source today that Andrew Walker has popped his shoulder, again. Not sure how serious it is yet.

Very sad news. My stomach dropped when I heard this. By all reports he was flying this pre-season. A cruel blow for the young man.

DOA - please pass on our best wishes and encouragement. Any word from the surgeon?

This better not be true... Evil or Very Mad

I was in a good mood before I read this threat title. Will be very disappointed if true.

Not that I doubt Little Lance, but there have been no training reports of a problem, you would assume that it happened in daylight hours (the post was late last night but the injury would have occured during the day). I think that it would be newsworthy enough to make it into one of the papers...............or onto the Carlton site (if it is true, there is no point hiding the fact).

Unfortunately training was cancelled this morning........so we might need to wait a bit longer.

Anyone have any other 'club sources'?

Little Lance is quite close with Andrew Carrazzo from what I've gathered so unless Carrots is speaking $hit, it's true.

Tell me about it......this is extra bad because it's now quite clear that AW has severe problems with his shoulders.

Heartbreaking Crying or Very sad

Do we know which shoulder it is?

It is so very sad for Andy himself, the club and all our supporters as we all thought this would be his year without any injury. He was having a terrific pre-season. Hopefully it's not as bad and surgery is not needed. Here's hoping he has a speedy (but well maintained) recovery.

Sad

Funny how the 3 sites (TC, BF and CSC) are now watching each other to find out more about this. One guy, Alpha1, on BF says his friend was there when he did it, and his shoulder did pop out. He says his friend says it will only be a 4-5 week thing and maybe less. Some corroboration there, but one wonders whether the friend is able to give a prognosis unless it can be sourced to the club's medicos.

'Popped out AGAIN......4 - 5 weeks rehab.'

Not good at all. Cronic shoulder problem that apparently won't go away. Whether it is 3 week, 6 week or 12 week rehab time, the fact is the shoulder can't take it..........

Yuk, hate to say it, but this could be career threatening for AW

From what I understand, this injurry is actually the opposite to the last one in that this one popped out backwards. The last one popped out forwards.

Heavy rehab and strengthening of one side of the shoulder can apparently weaken the opposite side. Early opinion is that this is what's happened to Walks. I don't know any more than that but he was meeting the surgeon yesterday I think.

This could indeed be very career threatening for Walker.
His career has been hampered by injuries and 2009 looked to be his make or break year.
Despite his talent that he offers, the club may very well delist him if the problem gets to be very bad. Sad

Ouch! I'm assuming popping backwards would hurt more than forwards since there's more bone there. Talk about pressure on the back.

Poor guy Crying or Very sad

I saw this thread on Punt Road End a couple of days ago:

Rumour - Judd injured shoulder

I read and re-read the training reports since that was posted and there didn't seem to be a problem with Judd.

Makes sense now, they just got the player wrong Rolling Eyes

I'm a bit bemused, as i'm sure that Walks is, that we can't seem to get this right. Judd had 2 shoulder reconstructions before he was drafted. He's still had problems on and off but i can't recall him missing a game through a bad shoulder since he's been in the big league.

Considering he gets hammered from pillar to post every week then you can assume his surgeon has done a brilliant job. Maybe we should get Judds surgeon on the case.

I was at training yesterday morning and was asked to leave because it was a closed session apparently. In the short time I was there Walker was running around taking part in all drills without a problem.

If your rumour is true then the shoulder popped out late during yesterdays training so I doubt they'd arrange to meet the surgeon on the same day. Let's hope the rest of your rumour is just as wrong.

If it is only a 4 week injury that is good as the season proper is still 8 weeks away so he still has plenty of time to be ready for round 1 Smile
