Update: (as at 05/01/09)
Chris Yarran
Commited: $200
(Harmesy, Nathbear, jkrgoblues, TheSheik)
Receieved: $1145
(Mateinone, Bluesgirl, Shakin77,TUB, Beetroot_theTurkey, Nicole, ,Stock, OldBlueStager, DJC, Hotcox, Brettie, Shadesy, kruddler, Zwarry, Flyboy77, Spook, Angafangalis, BoFs, rocky, wickedlester)
Total Pledged:: $1345
------------------------------------------------------------------
Some good news folks. (Bad news for me. More work!!!)
Mateinone has been in contact with the club and they have offered us a second player for 2008!!!
The cost to sponsor a player has dropped to $2,000 as they have made some changes to the package including the removal of the Carlton Memberships (Gold * 2)
Mateinone has told the club that we are only interested in a senior player or an early draft pick (1st and 2nd round).
But we need to get moving.
Could it be a Jack Ziebell, a Michael Hurley or even Lewis Johnston!!!
It could be an exciting opportunity to follow a young player through the high and lows of his AFL career.
If anyone is interested in sponsoring the second player can you please contact me.
No amount is too small.
We will be running the sponsorship separate to the Richard Hadley sponsorship so you need to mention which sponsorship you want to contribute to.
More details to follow… |

I would like to sponsor Marc Murphy because he is the best player I have seen since Carazzo at the club. |

Just talking about you earlier.
Thought we might introduce a fine system for terrible posts. Say $5 a post?
Which would put you at about $2,780.00.
$1,500 if you take an early plea. |

An excellent way to hold the club for ransom.
Draft Lewis Johnson at #6 and we'll kick in an extra $500
Isn't that right Mich.
I'm good for some cash...will work out what i can afford to part with at a later date though.
(Note to self: Check finances) |

Too right krud
On a side note... Shakin just to clarify so that everyone know's... If you put in money that means that amount is split going to each player? OR You can choose which player you would like to sponsor? I think some may be getting the right idea here.
Keep in mind everyone, this is going to a good place, especially if we do get a new player as the money would really help them out in their first year. |

I'm happy to commit (minimum $50, hope it will be more) also, and to split whatever I contribute between Richard and our hypothetical #2.
Having received a Visa bill to-day, that's quite a bit more than my fortnightly super pension, I'll have to delay my contribution until around November. |

I'm in for $50 !!
I seem to recall that I'm owed a $25 refund from the Fantasy Footy competition (it didn't go ahead this year) which could be used as well. |

Happy to commit $50 for each of Hadley and Player #2 for a total of $100.
If we don't make the Player #2 target I'm happy to leave the extra $50 for 09's addition to our next premirship side. |

Just so you know, I'm still planning on getting a newsletter out. Have had other things on my plate this last week, so sorry it's being delayed further.
Personally, I reckon it'd be far easier for people to just donate whatever amount they want to sponsorship in general, and the whole lot is then split equally between the two players. That way there'd be less headaches for Shakin when collating the $$$, and whatever is left over above the two amounts (2 x $2K) can simply be pooled again to go towards 2010 sponsorship.
Thoughts? |
