The thing we lack in the middle is pace. The two mid fielders we have with pace are Dow and Fisher. The two players we don't play in the midfield are Dow and Fisher. If we win the ball in the middle we are ok if we don't win the ball in the middle then we are in trouble. Maybe running Dow and Fisher through the middle might be a plan. Who knows?

Ed Curnow,
Jack Martin,
Lachie Fogarty,
Lachlan Cowan,
Marc Pittonet

Out
Lochie O'Brien (Omitted),
Zac Fisher (Omitted)

seriously?
Ed Curnow is lucky. He wasn't that impressive last week in the VFL. To be honest, I wouldn't be playing him. Maybe he has a task? Can't think of any other reason.

Jack Martin: we probably need him, as he provides something we lack in our forward line. But after less than one full VFL game? I can't see it. Very lucky.

Lachie Fogarty: not that impressive last week either. He is hard and tough, but he doesn't produce a lot of run, which is what we need.

Marc Pittonet: we need him. I just hope we're not pushing forward before he is ready.
Essendon named Chris Bryan as well, so we do need 2 real rucks.

Lachie Cowan: that was a reasonable choice, as he did a good job last week.

Lochie O'Brien deserved to be dropped. Whatever skills he has, his decision making is truly awful. We can't afford his mistakes. Trade him.

Fisher: maybe a little stiff to be dropped, but he had a task last week and he didn't do it. We need to see him running hard and getting the ball.

I would have played Binns, even if he is a young, skinny kid. He gets where the ball is going.

The good ol' MC never fails to raise eyebrows! :o

I give up. Seems that everything I thought I knew about this team is false. Gaslighting 😵‍💫

Surely Pitto won't play after hand surgery only a few weeks ago?
Want to to see Moo back in and Fog get a run.
Ed and Martin will offer nothing, dont understand the selections.
Can't see us winning as we are just playing too poorly and can't score more than 6 or 7 goals.
They will annihilate us with for pace and ball movement. Could get ugly, can't recall ever losing interest this early in a season.

Voss said that pitto was not going to get up. Must be giving him every chance, but I suspect a late out.

Martin in is good for team balance, hopefully he can perform to a decent level and get through the game. His next contract depends on it.

Fisher out is bad for team balance, but with all the noise about player unrest, it's hard not to connect a few dots.

Ed curnow could be the opposite, don't really need him, but you know he plays a team first style.

If we lose this week, it may be a big shake up next week. Hopefully we've done the right thing at the selection table.

Can't give Martin another contract, he just misses too many games and has through his career. Its inevitable he will get injured again but hopefully can play a few games in a row..

Martin should have been cut end of last year and this year it’s been more of the same.
Thought at the time of drafting him we too generous with his contract and that assumption was correct. Has delivered nothing.

Just can’t have players like him on the list and expect to improve.

Bit shocked Binns can't get a game this week. Essendon are probably the ideal team for him to debut against given they play a outside running style and his form in the twos has been decent and consistent.

Dow's pace is 'one-paced' and not fast pace, unfortunately.

Martin is obviously always injured but when he plays he is dangerous. Unlike all of our other small forwards he can mark the ball.

Tbh, there isn't anything he can't do....except be consistent and fit.

We waited years for docherty and Charlie to get fit and its paying off, if we get the same kind of 'luck' with Martin, the upside is huge.
If.

If he plays on Sunday, Ill predict 8 disposals, 5 marks 1 tackle and 1 junk time goal.
