Jim Park Voting AFL Rd 13 Carlton vs Essendon

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

Hopefully we'll have guys to vote for.
Live Long and Prosper!

This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

Not our best game, but we played Essendon in the wet on their 150th Birthday without half of our side and beat them soundly. Hard to argue against that. Sure, I would like to have beaten them by 100 points, but it will do.
The fact that we’re beating ANYONE at this stage, with our injury issues says that we are what we hoped we’d become: a real contender.

Votes:
[2.5]   Sam Docherty
[2]   Patrick Cripps
[2]   Sam Walsh
[1.5]   Nick Newman
[1.5]   Harry McKay
[1]   George Hewett
[1]   Jack Newnes
[1]   Lewis Young
[1]   Adam Saad
[0.5]   Matthew Kennedy
[0.5]   Matthew Cottrell
[0.5]   Charlie Curnow

Explanations:
[2.5]   Sam Docherty:   What a player! Doc hasn’t missed a beat since his return and was brilliant again this round.
[2]   Patrick Cripps:      Considering we were so thrashed in the ruck, Crippa’s game was phenomenal. The leadership he provided was outstanding. 28 possessions, 8 clearances and 5 tackles.
[2]   Sam Walsh:      A great game from Sam.
[1.5]   Nick Newman:      Sydney must be shaking their heads every time Nick and George Hewett show up in our best players, which they have a lot this year. An excellent game, keeping his opponents to ineffectual levels.
[1.5]   Harry McKay:      Marked beautifully. We just needed to get it to him a bit more often.
[1]   George Hewett:   Another excellent game from George. 28 possessions and 5 clearances.
[1]   Jack Newnes:      One of Newnes’ best games for us.
[1]   Lewis Young:      Really stood up and was counted. Lots of intercepts.
[1]   Adam Saad:      Another typical Saad game: his opponent gets to see a lot of is back when he is chasing Saad upfield.
[0.5]   Matthew Kennedy:   Not his best game, but a solid contributor.
[0.5]   Matthew Cottrell:   Took his chance when he came on and played one of his more intelligent games.
[0.5]   Charlie Curnow:   Didn’t deliver as much as he promised, but we didn’t move the ball well into the forward line after half time.

Honourable Mentions:
Jack Silvagni:      Tried his guts out but was thrashed in the ruck. Took a great mark and goal and was always putting pressure on.
Matthew Owies:   A couple of goals was a decent return, but he was quieter than we really need him to be.
Tom de Koning:   Tom tried his guts out but was well beaten in the ruck.
Lochie O’Brien:   Not vote worthy, but solid on his wing. Didn’t make a lot of mistakes, but did some good work, especially in the back half.
Lachie Plowman:   Solid, if unspectacular in defence. His opponents didn’t get much ball.
Live Long and Prosper!
