I haven't seen the game and I'm not going to bother with the replay. However, as I sit here sipping an Aussie wine and contemplating the Moray Firth, I can't help but wonder about our apparent inability to run out the game.
Yes, we had a hard game last week but did Port have a bye? We're supposed to have the fitness guru in Buttifant but clearly something is wrong if the team can't run out a game in the home and away season.
I wonder if we'll go to Arizona in the pre-season
We couldn't even run out the first quarter. We were totally outclassed and it had little to do with fitness but more with a lack of intensity, desire....all those other relevant things. We had young players and injured players and they were close to full strength. It was just a disaster that's best put behind us....and certainly not worth watching again (unless you're involved in list management )
We effectively had one of sports top fitness gurus in Cordy and he was flicked for Buttifant. I realise Buttifant is a good mate of MM, and that he has had some tragedy in his life, but friendships and bad luck should not be part of the decision making!
Go to Final Siren and look at our last quarter stats for the last few years, we have gone backwards massively!

Rowe and Casboult should be taken to task over 2 amateur mistakes.......... They are not "good " kicks , let alone decent kicks of the footy so dont even bother to try and kick the footy off 1 step, or when walking backwards for that matter.
Seriously cannot blame Rowe for that goal, bagging Rowe is basically defending Lucas for a pea-hearted effort, the lad did not even contest when he should have been pushing hard back to make a contest. I'll take Rowe 1000X over the likes of Lucas.
Tonight showed why offering Carrazzo an extension was so wrong, just a panic merchant and cost us dearly with panic disposals. The Carrazzo mafia on the forum will come out and defend him but he is done, well and truly cooked!
Other than that, not much to say about tonight, too many injuries and a team full of players marking of the days until Mad Monday!
The only reason I see for playing Kruezer in the last few games is perhaps for the kids own confidence. He has been battered from pillar to post injury wise, he himself probably wants to get a few games under the belt and go into the preseason knowing he can still play the game and his body is right.
Not just for SpecialK, I am not saying that it is, but it could also be advertising. For trade week!
I wouldn't play him at all The seasons shot. We've really nothing to gain with him struggling through a couple of "nothing" matches. A team with Kreuzer, Wood and Casboult seems a bit unbalanced.
Let him have a good pre-season and come back fresh for what could be a genuine crack at a good season next year .
If the club thinks Casboult and Waite are walking, then perhaps they are going to test the options in their absence.
Maybe Wood playing the Casboult role and Kreuzer or Warnock in the ruck?
Reckon we might get our butts handed back to us in a brown paper bag this weekend, struggling for enough fit players to field a team has to breakdown sooner or later.
Port are desperate for a good win right now before the finals.
Overdue for a backwards step, is that what you are hinting at?
I heard a rumor yesterday that SpecialK would get a run in Adelaide after "Kruising" through the VFL match without even raising a puff. Some reported he looked like he could have played two games!
I thought that rumor just cannot be true, but sure enough it's on the club website today!
MM said Carrazzo had the Selwood job all night but they were not happy with Carrazzo's first half, but very happy that he levelled things out in the second half. As MBB says, that's breaking even!
I thought Carrazzo was one of our better players, but I can't give a bloke BOG if he is beaten for almost a half. For me BOG means four quarters, none of them beaten, it must be break even or win. I didn't see any Carlton players win four quarters last night but Murphy would go close to breaking even in that he didn't really lose any quarters, but overall it was a very good team effort.
