You blokes must be millionaires, those flash razors cost a fortune!
A straight shave with a straight blade, just rub a bar of soap on the dry face first, then afterwards buff off the residue with the dry towel, or your shirt!
Best of all, if you are use to straight shaving and get stuck out in the bush, the broken stubby works just as well, always scrap with the grain though!
Photos are touched up... they have been for an eternity. Not sure what the discussion point it here?
The thread can be used for any bullsh1te you like.
As for my opening post. It gives young women, many of whom may be daughters to posters on this forum, a complete warped sense of self-worth and significant feelings that they are second rate compared to those "Perfect" celebrities, most of whom are not really so perfect at all!
We should highlight stuff like this to our children often and with great fervor so they can see these superstars, who often pump themselves up as "role models", for what they really are!
If he can build on that and be every bit the player we recruited him to be next year, then we're going to be in for a big season. Gibbs, Murphy and Thomas has the potential to be an outstanding three way punch.
I agree, I'm not talking down his future just discussing his past and I think 10th is a bit over-rated, or perhaps others under-rated!
Perhaps they have done this because that is what Daisy needs, but surely others need some recognition too?
Thomas ahead of those blokes is completely unrealistic, it reeks of nepotism!
Reeks is not a strong enough word. It's a pisstake of epic proportions.
It's little things like this that set the alarm bells ringing for me, the removal of Cordy and the appointment of Buttifant, the recruitment of Thomas and playing him clearly unfit, the pre-season trip debacles, the blind faith in altitude training, the failure to stand by certain players and now Thomas getting 10th spot in the B&F.
These do not come across to me as rational cold professional decisions, they have some subjectivity and that makes me doubt things.
B+F's are generally a guide to who performed their role to the best of their ability according to the expectation of the Match Committee along with being an influential player.
That can mean sacrificing output for the good of the team from time to time.
This may also serve to send a message to the group regarding ways to influence a result without being a dominant player.
By the same token, if blokes perform you shouldn't be disrespecting their efforts just to pump up some other player.
I doubt many supporters would rate the Dale Thomas 2014 season better than Curnow's. I'd barely have Thomas ahead of Waite or Robinson despite the number of games they lost to injury and or suspension, and there is no way Thomas deserves more respect or has had any more impact on 2014 than Henderson or Casboult for the 2014!
Thomas ahead of those blokes is completely unrealistic, it reeks of nepotism!
1 Bryce Gibbs 2 Marc Murphy 3 Kade Simpson 4 Chris Yarran 5 Sam Rowe 6 Michael Jamison = 7 Andrejs Everitt = 7 Chris Judd 9 Sam Docherty 10 Dale Thomas
Dale Thomas, WTF?
Ahead of Curnow, Walker, Carrazzo, Robinson, McLean, Henderson, Casboult, really?
I'm not a fan of the Northern Blues setup and also want a standalone team but to me the greatest problem is Luke Webster who I dont think is up to developing AFL players....
You won't get any argument from me!
Blokes go back to the 2s, then go backwards even further there, I think Webster has turned into a disaster as far as development goes! The only guys we have that go back to the 2s and do OK are McLean and Graham and they look self motivated.
I suspect our club was thinking when LFA and UFA come in we were going to do the old Carlton and just open the doors letting the AFLs best walk in, because they wanted to play at Carlton, but it won't and didn't happen. In the process we neglected player development or at least failed to take it seriously. Our clubs only solution to problems is money, effort isn't seriously considered!
Defense is all about continuity, whenever I watch teams with a stable defense they always seem to perform beyond their ability. They know when to roll back, offer chop outs, press, zone, it all just happens no directions no instructions.
The group we had this season has only had one season as a group, they look like a solid bunch and given some continuity they will do OK. It's not about individuals.
I think in the long term our problems are all in the middle and forward of center. Our mids don't defend as well as they should, and our forwards are not as consistent as they need to be. Whenever we got busted open last season it was always off the back of piss-weak midfield defensive contributions.
