Apologies to probably a half dozen other players, I thought it was a pretty even spread in this game.

We were somewhat spasmodic last night, we struggled to keep the pressure up for 4 quarters. But we were very brave, especially considering the number of guys we didn't have last night.
I was happy with a lot of aspects, especially the evenness of the performance.

Votes:
[2.5]   McLean
[2.5]   Murphy
[1.5]   Rowe
[1.5]   Simpson
[1.5]   Gibbs
[1.5]   White
[1]   Thomas
[1]   Garlett
[1]   Buckley
[0.5]   Warnock
[0.5]   Waite

Explanations:
[2.5]   McLean      Broke played very well and made the most of the opportunities he had. He was excellent.
[2.5]   Murphy      For the 2nd week in a row Murphy really pulled out a good one. His stats, like Broke's, are hard to go past.
[1.5]   Rowe      Sam actually had less of the ball than any other Carlton player. However, he had probably his most effective game as a defender and totally destroyed a dangerous player in Darling.
[1.5]   Simpson   Spent most of his time in the middle and had an excellent game.
[1.5]   Gibbs      Apart from a period in the 2nd quarter when his kicking and judgement simply fled, Gibbs had a very good game. Kicking for goal: he needs work here!
[1.5]   White      Came back after a poor game last week and really did a job. he played mainly on the resting rucks and kept them almost kickless.
[1]   Thomas   Probably his best game in a Carlton guernsey to date. He simply willed himself to the contest.
[1]   Garlett      His best game for the year by a long margin. The tackling was back, the pressure was back and the smarts were back.
[1]   Buckley      Loved Dylan's run from defence.
[0.5]   Warnock   Toiled against the best ruck combo in the competition and nullified their affect. He also managed to get a number of clearances and was outmarked only once for the night.
[0.5]   Waite      Still not at his best, but he did a lot better for a lot longer and managed at least 10 marks.

Honourable mentions:
Walker      A little loose at times, but he managed to take taller opponents and nullify them while providing drive from defence. Almost vote worthy.
Henderson   Patchy, but made the most of his limited opportunities. 9 marks and a couple of nice goals.
Scotland   Not yet back to his best, but he played more consistently.
Menzel      8 possessions for a quarter was just the start. It was the negative pressure and the sure left foot that made his performance memorable.
Yarran      Until he was hurt (the first half), he was excellent and really hurt the Weagles with his run and rebound.
Casboult   More marks than in any 2 of his earlier game and a lot of pressure. Pity he can't kick, as he wasted too many scoring opportunities.
