Jim Park Voting AFL Rd 3 Carlton vs Hawthorn

Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.
Forgive me for taking the @crashlander thunder, but I thought it was time to get the votes rolling.

I hope crash is all good! :)

Sorry I hadn't set this thread up earlier, I was just a tad busy and absent minded. It won't happen again.

Someone has to play well.

This is now the longest premiership drought in the history of the Carlton Football Club - more evidence of climate change?

Our 1st Quarter was some of the best football you’ll see, but after that we stagnated. On the other hand, we really found a way to win when it counted. A lot to like about that.

Votes:
[3]   Sam Docherty
[2]   Patrick Cripps
[1.5]   Matthew Kennedy
[1.5]   George Hewett
[1.5]   Jacob Weitering
[1]   Sam Walsh
[1]   Jack Silvagni
[1]   Harry McKay
[0.5]   Charlie Curnow
[0.5]   Zac Williams
[0.5]   Nick Newman
[0.5]   Adam Cerra
[0.5]   Lewis Young

Explanations:
[3]   Sam Docherty:   How good can the Doc be? Damned Good! He is playing great football and not turning the ball over as much. Crucial marks. Big moments.
[2]   Patrick Cripps:      A bit patchier this week, but Cripps really rose when we needed it. Stunning early.
[1.5]   Matthew Kennedy:   When the game is in the balance, Matthew pulls out the big marks and the big players. He really lifted when we needed it.
[1.5]   George Hewett:   9 clearances and 9 tackles, he has made such a difference to our midfield.
[1.5]   Jacob Weitering:   Jacob clearly isn’t 100 % fit. Weiters has not got around the field as well as he did in the last few years. But did that matter? Not in the least. When it really counted, he put his body on the line. Thrashed his opponent all day.
[1]   Sam Walsh:      A long way off his best, but that doesn’t stop him getting leather poisoning.
[1]   Jack Silvagni:      Probably the most complete game of our forwards. He had a dozen marks and provided a target all day. His spectacular mark was brilliant, but it was the last of his 3 goals that really mattered the most.
[1]   Harry McKay:      Beat his opponent in almost every contest. Alas, we couldn’t get the ball to him late as well as we did early.
[0.5]   Charlie Curnow:   Some really good moments, but also some signs that he has missed a lot of football. When it came to a one-on-one contest, he simply won them.
[0.5]   Zac Williams:      Much better than last week, especially when it got hairy.
[0.5]   Nick Newman:      Ditto.
[0.5]   Adam Cerra:      Not his best game, he was clearly still affected by his illness, but what he did was classy. He’ll be better in the weeks to come.
[0.5]   Lewis Young:      Solid in his first game for us. He not only thrashed his opponents, but he took some nice marks. At the moment Oscar provides more run and out from defence, but that will come as Lewis gains experience.

Honourable Mentions:
Will Setterfield:   Very solid from Setters. Unlucky not to get a vote.
Lochie O’Brien:   Again, showing the improvement in his game this year. Much more effective than he was last year.
Matthew Owies:   Fell out of the game, but was very dangerous. Will get better.
Corey Durdin:      For a while I thought it was Eddie Betts transformed, but it was Corey Durdin taking marks and making goals. He needs to do more, but he is improving all the time.
Marc Pittonet:   Not as dominant as he has been, but still a major part of our forward moves.
