Best team.....and next best

OK, so i got bored waiting for stuff to happen, so i did this exercise most have done plenty of times before.

Pick your best team.

....and pick your next best team....your 2nds.

Now we still have a few spots on our list, so i limited it to 18 each, which also allows you to fill your bench with the best of the second lot.
FWIW, I didn't include any rookies (well, not good enough anyway) and i didn't include Byrne because....well he's barely a Carlton player at this point in time.

I think everyone else fits in there nicely....even with the 2 new additions McGovern and Fasolo.

Yes, Walsh and Setterfield are likely too, but we'll wait for that to through first ;)

FB   Marchbank      Weitering      Plowman
   J. Silvagni      Jones      Williamson

Oops. I forgot Schumacher....not that he'd really push anyone out of the firsts.....or even seconds really.

Looks good but keep your powder dry, trade period aint done yet. Still hoping we will grab a Barlow type for grunt work in the guts for a year or two to help the younger blokes. Ps I'd have Murphy as a small forward with Fasolo (super headache for opposing coaches/assuming that Pickett and Garlett continue to be ...not much) and Fisher as an on-baller.
Only our ruthless best, from Board to bootstudders will get us no. 17

I think I read somewhere MM likely to be playing more as a back.
Cant remember where I saw it though, so maybe BS.

i f***n hope not. We have an abundance of backs already, Unless we are planning on trading one (some?) away, i'd play him forward.

For all those saying Willo et al should be playing firsts, don't forget there is room for 4 more on the bench.

BUT...who would you take out of the firsts to put him (or anyone) in the team?

FWIW, i had pickett in the team, but realised i forgot Fisher, so he got the flick.

That is true...but how many of the 2nd players were playing firsts last year.  :-\

I'll give you the tip....all of them got games in the 1's apart from Willo who was injured all year.

Forward line looks a bit slow and lumbering, Fisher the only one there who woul apply decent forward pressure
