Title: Carlton VS Essendon (Match Talk)
Post by: LordLucifer on April 06, 2014, 06:58:01 pm
Bit of a concern early, camera in the rooms show the players doing some warm-up drills and they are paired off and have to tackle the other guy with the ball.

Most of the guys are going hard at it, Jamison & Warnock are hardly inspiring any confidence, they are only just going through the motions.

MEMO to Everitt : watch the ball and attack it !!

If Warnock doesn't dominate the ruck tonight he should be sacked at the end of the season.

Second overhead mark & goal to Hardingham, time to change the match-up Mick, swap Tuohy over with someone else before its gets ugly.

Always thought Hardingham is a decent player though.

Brettie made the call on hardingham during the week.

Just shoes how poor Tuohy has become.

Some early warning signs for us. Uncontested ball is not looking good.

No desperation in the chasing department, a lot of spectators at present.

18-points down and the signs are not good.

They've had triple the possession and plenty of uncontested ball.  It's like we don't know how they play.  Oh and they can mark.  It's embarrassing.

36 points at 3/4 time and it looks like a country practice match.

Fark me, if I was Malthouse you'd see steam coming out of my ears when I addressed the players, I be sparing no expletives and language in my appraisal of them.

That was freakin' woeful, insipid and goddam embarrassing.

Maybe they have been told after rd 2 that there has to be drastic list changes at the end of the year because they are all rubbish. That usually works.

People say we are on the improve. A better team than in the past. Yeh right. 39 to 3 in the first quarter. How f@cken lazy have we been. So much so that the game looks completely boring. We only applied a little pressure with 1 and a half minutes to go and the Scum still scored a goal with seconds to go. They aren't even trying to beat us and are smashing us. WTF is going on ????

Even when you play like a bucket of poop, you still kick 6-7 goals in a match so you have to expect a couple to go through.

Tanking.

I've a sneaking suspicion you may be right. This list is crap and Malthouse knows it. If not Malthouse has lost the plot.

There might actually be legs in the "Malthouse fronting the Board"  story. Players look like they've had their hearts ripped out.

If you have no skill, that's one thing, but playing without heart is quite another. Coach has got to em methinks.

Simpson, unlike his doe eyed mates, looked genuinely angry.  I agree that changing Captain would make little difference to this score, but Simmons has heart and emotion and looks like a leader.

Anyway, whatever.  I'm sure we will kick a couple of goals in the third and get within 5 and the boys will think they've done enough.

Don't be like that. Leave the girls alone. They are tired. They need this half time break to have a rest, fix their foundation and make up, and go for a wee wee. Give them some tissues to wipe their box while they are at it.

2 quick kicks out of a stoppage, to nobody.
No other kicks.
No other handballs.
0% Disposal efficiency.
20 hit outs, mostly to the opposition.
1 tackle.

No other effect on the game.

There are no recognised ruckmen on the opposition and thats all you can come up with in a half of football!

BRING IN WOOD!

Rowe is having a go. Would be going even better if we weren't kicking it to his feet.

His having a go isn't AFL quality.

To be fair to Rowe and I was on his case last week he hasnt really made any stuff ups and a couple of his handpasses have resulted in scores,
he has has also shown some nous in the ruck and direct his hitouts well.
He would be in our best players tonight IMO purely because he hasnt messed up as much as most of his teammates.

Mitch Robinson

David Ellard
Christopher Yarran
Michael Jamison
Nicholas Duigan
Andrew Walker
Setanta O'hAilpin
Robert Warnock
Zach Tuohy
Eddie Betts
Jeff Garlett
Bret Thornton
Aaron Joseph
Marcus Davies

That was the side that played that night.     No Gibbs, Waite and Kruezer.

Glad to see you have taken ownership of him, your Robbie!

If I did in fact own him, I'd be listing him on Ebay this coming week with a starting price of $0.01, wouldn't be expecting to many bids though.

We played hard for about six minutes.  Then they got a couple of goals and we went back to sleep.  Yes they're a much better side in terms of depth and skill, but I look at the one on ones and we are being killed.  We didn't touch the ball for a good chunk of that quarter.

Our first blow-out under MM. And it was embarrassing to watch.

There can be no avoiding the questions with trite responses, MM. No use talking about the season being a marathon and not a sprint. We've not started yet and the rest of the field is under way.

At present the CFC and Melbourne FC are the two worst clubs in the competition... how fitting they meet this week. One of them will finally be a winner. And if us, it will be a very hollow victory.

If theres a clean out to be done, id rather it done now
First and foremost, I want a spill of the full board and tickets put forward.
once that is settled.
A full a through audit of the whole operation. I want a sub committee of trusted carlton people right away
I don't want these carlton people part of the long term structure - just a transitional overbody
I want all the kids played now for the rest of the season- 6 players should be dropped next week
I want a expert development senior coach appointed next year
No point getting a premiership coach
The season is over - there really is no point playing for 10- 12 on the ladder

I read the Ian Collins article in The Hun today, the story of being whacked by the AFL.

In hindsight we might have been better off to hand in the keys!

ian Collins is a screww1t
waited 20 years to go from vice prez to prez
what does he do first? he rolls over like the b1tch he is
and takes it rudely and suddenly from a former scum afl prez imposter.
Did even put up a fight - his article, him the man is typical of what was on display tonight
The Pr1ck of person to run to the papers and put that stuff in there is embarrassing for him the "man"

Thank you, you saved me from typing it...well said >:D

If theres a clean out to be done, id rather it done now
First and foremost, I want a spill of the full board and tickets put forward.
once that is settled.
A full a through audit of the whole operation. I want a sub committee of trusted carlton people right away
I don't want these carlton people part of the long term structure - just a transitional overbody
I want all the kids played now for the rest of the season- 6 players should be dropped next week
I want a expert development senior coach appointed next year
No point getting a premiership coach
The season is over - there really is no point playing for 10- 12 on the ladder

I agree... an Extraordinary General Meeting

These people at the club are celebrating 150 years...$500 to $1000 per seat...in June

I say..get rid of them now...we have to look to the future and we are at least 7-10 years away from being a force...

no time to waste..

The rot starts at the top - always....

Kernahan, Malthouse, Murphy.

Just on this. I'm not sure if you can blame Murphy. Yeah he's an average captain but that's not his fault. He still laid 8 tackles and had it 27 times. He tried which is more than you can say for a few others.

I'm not bagging Murph, but I think the club was wrong to make him skipper.

You're bagging Murphy

Marc Murphy is the very least of Carlton's problems. A very talented player and emerging leader and it's a bit disappointing to see so many here turning on him - he's committed to this club and tries his guts out every week. He bleeds blue.

No I am not.

Fact...Simmo has given so much more as a leader on field than Murph. Fact...Murphy has played well below his own standard since becoming captain.

Yep, that's pretty much sums it up for me, not his fault though.
