Both of those need to come back via the seconds. No automatic selections. No passengers.
Martin is quality but fragile, I wouldn’t wast any games he can play in the seconds unless he needs to find fitness, but I agree with your sentiment in general.
HTF Fantasia keeps getting a game is beyond me. The photos must be incriminating.
I don't think he's been all that bad, albeit his possession count has been low, he definitely has a touch of class when he gets his hands on it. You also need to look at who he is keeping out and I'm not sure anyone is knocking the door down ATM. This will definitely change in the coming weeks as Martin, and Motlop become available.
Absolutely agree. I was asked last night before the game who I'd prefer to win, all bias against the filth aside, and I picked the Pies. Much prefer to face them next week.
No doubt if we make it through playing the pies would provide added motivation, let’s get through today and then we can greet them with our ‘blue fury’!
We’ll Ross Lyon wasn’t exactly glowing about us after the match, stared that he knew what we were capable of which is a what we brought in the second half and good teams will be able to handle it, I guess that means the Saints aint a good team. No one does ‘bitter’ better than Ross in a losing press conference, flog!
I think that there is still an underlying question in the back of most Carlton peoples' minds... "Can we be trusted yet?"
Port was great, Collingwood exceptional but sometimes I think we are most vulnerable against our peers, and we come up against a couple of those in the next four weeks. St Kilda, Gold Coast and GWS are all around us and teams that we should beat, given out recent form......but can we be trusted yet???
Trick is not the view them as our peers, I reckon we've gone past a couple of them at least!
Cowan and Hollands both confirmed to make their debut Thursday night, I guess O’Brien is making way on one of the wings for Hollands and young Cowan will free up Docherty to play midfield.
I actually agree, emotion of the moment got to me!
On reflection we need to teach, Charles in particular... discernment. Learn when to take your time and use a drop punt. He has shown that he can launch a deadly drop punt from outside 50, so the ability is there. Again, and common with our group - above the shoulders... and inexperience.
Agree, needed to go back take his time and own the moment. This is the next step in his development to becoming the champion we all hope he can be.
This is a game we should not only win, but win well. The Midgets are ripe for a burying, I hope we're up for the task. Quite a few of our blokes have to lift after last week's effort.
Yep, our form seems to have flattened out, a strong win could be just the tonic we need to restore our confidence for the run home.
The one saving grace about the stage fright phenomenon is that it happened during the Home & Away. I would like to think we will be far better prepared next time (assuming we get another crack!).
Was thinking the same thing watching the game on Saturday night, a reality check for what happens when you're not 100% switched on.
