Blah-Blah Bar / Re: Sam Newman at it again!
I hate all booing too and I respect freedum, sorry Freedom Of speech, but if some fool that has had more airtime than all of us x100 combined for no other reason than he is a stale pale old
middle class male that has always had that freedom, above others, to voice what he thinks with no retribution ever, then I do not respect nor value that opinion.

And it’s not just him voicing an opinion. It is him also telling people to boo the WTC. So he’s advocating not only to disapprove Of it but to actively voice that.

Embarrassing stupid fool.

I wrote a heap out and deleted it.

Sam Newman is a fkwit and IMO if you’re thinking of booing the WTC, you’re a racist.

Not sure why it seems so hard for people to sit through, as someone said - the sponsor bullcrap we have to listen to is always done respectfully 🤷🏻‍♀️ so we’re more respectful of corporate advertising than WTC. It’s just absurd. And embarrassing.

PS. Around me on level 4 Q32 on Friday night everyone stood up and quietly listened to the WTC.  No one ignored it or talked thru it.  Off their own bat they stood.  All ages and colours, men and women.  Had a row of young guys in front of me that stood even before I did. So it does resonate and is respected by many.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Pre Game Prognostications
I've done it. Said I'd accept any ticket including standing room nut had a thought they'll shove me there first.  My preference is a good ticket and I'll pay for it.  I'll accept standing room but id rather not.

What are you guys doing?
Same and I have two kids with me too so not keen on standing room at all, Altho one kid is taller than me so that would be ok but the other is a little girl.

But I figure if we’re there somewhere then it’s a bloody good day and we’ll take what we get!!

I did think elderly or people with mobility issues, how is that fair on them too?!

We had mostly decided flights were too expensive so weren’t going to go, but I tried today anyway just to see.  Spent 30mins on the wrong ticket seller 😆 and only realised when I got through to buy Collingwood/GWS tickets 🙄

So got onto Ticketmaster at 10.30 and got tickets immediately - did best price and came back with $650 for 4. So tried again with cheaper tickets 5 mins later and again got a shot at it for $315!

But with flights being $3k return just not doable unfortunately this year as we have an OS trip booked for next year we’re already paying off.

Was surprised that I had access for tickets still at 10.40, had assumed it’d sell out.

Enjoy Thryleon, I really hope we get to play in the final game of the year 🤞🏼

We need H in if he’s okay to play. He maybe missed some goals but he is so important to the structure - I think people forget he did some great things other than kick goals. And he frees up Charlie.

My head says we are the walking wounded and our season is about done BUT I didn’t realise sitting at the MCG watching that first quarter against GC that from the second quarter on, we would be a completely changed team that would not stop. But it happened.

Also free game for us, nothing to lose - expecting to see no nerves this time around which hopefully means that we hit our kicks spot on and take our opportunities early.

first time post - walked this path many times over the years (first Blues memory 68 grand final)
as much as it sounds painful - there is an old saying a half fit so and so is better than a fully fit so and so.
l have seen this happen many times with all AFL clubs only to pay the consequences.
there are some banged up boys right now who will be going into next week game not fully fit - anyone had a broken nose or a dislocated shoulder (l can see Zorko lining up Patty Cripps nose) l don't think a jab will rectify .
should the board go completely left field and rest them and play a fully fit team -  or run the risk of a 60 point lose next week.
l don't know.
I think a Cripps with a broken nose and a mattress around his ribs, an Acres with half a collarbone, a Doc with a popping out shoulder etc etc is more than what we have to come in.  You cannot take those 3 out for those reasons, maybe Acres as he was holding his arm up and it is obvs paining him immensely, but you’re taking out one of our very best who has played with the condition - Under extreme heat, and done magnificently. I would say absolutely not.
