Fake it until you make it. Spot on!

I'll take that for now. I'll take 4 and 1 any time especially when we're only really playing 2 quarters a game.

Every game so far Charlie has dropped a few sitters and got his hands on a few pack marks but dropped them. Imagine what he's going to bed like when his confidence is up and going.

Still a lot of fluency yet to come across the board with players getting used to each other and new game plan. And some talent to come back in.

I don't expect to get the choccies against the frockers next week.

But i am looking forward to when everything clicks for real.

Best bit was watching Riewoldt hardly getting a touch. I'm sick of that bloke bobbing up and kicking 3 or 4. Good job by Weiters and co.

The tigers looked a lot like last year. They get their game going and look unbeatable again but don't seem to be able to maintain the rage when they get some stiff resistance. Good sign for us that we pushed through instead of being pushed over.

Perhaps my favourite bit was in the presser and the tone Vossy took when he said we wanted more than one win. I need to watch it again to recall exactly what he said but i know i liked it. Little bit of killer is what we've needed for a long time.

No real easy games you can pencil in i reckon... If we're going to be a good team we have to beat good sides. When everything clicks, which one day i hope it does, we'll be the team other sides dread playing. Until then we just have to wait and see.

Whatever money a club pays clarko to coach (next year) Hawthorn don't have to pay him.

So, there is an opportunity, for a club to get Clarko to coach their club next year, and pay him, literally, nothing.
Talking about it on fox footy and they used $1 as the figure.

Suggesting that you can pay Clarko $1 to coach (and he gets 900k from the hawks) and you use that extra 900k soft cap room, to beef up your department and get a leg up on everyone else.

Now, how would you do that....
Effectively 'front load' some assistant coach contracts, and hire someone else for the long term and his wages come from the money you've saved by front loading assistants.

IMO, the ability to increase you football department (for free) is a bigger coup than getting Clarko as coach.

If we do get clarko (i don't think we should), but i'd be more inclined to do so provided we don't have to pay him a cent in his first year.

Would he effectively work for free though? If we upped his $'s from 2023 he could.

I think every dollar another club pays Clarko next year is a dollar the Hawks don't have to pay.
