De Goey and Mitchell both ruled out by McRae.

Gives us a bit of an edge in the midfield for sure. Great if we get Cerra back but I'd like to have McGovern down back this week too just to settle things down a bit.

If Cerra comes in, probably won't be too many other changes.

I don't get some of the proposed changes to laws surrounding domestic violence and deep fake porn, etc., etc., they seem to be based on a rather naïve outlook on society. I suspect the government is being lead by social media factors not good policy.

Firstly, offering cash for abused women you'll get as many spurious claims as you get genuine, some may claim the cost is for the greater good, but really it's just another loophole that will make the process unmanageable. What victims of domestic violence need is physical protection, not a nice dinner before being beaten to death. Pieces of paper are ultimately worthless as defence against weapons or fists.

Banning deep fake porn seems to be a confusion of revenge porn, I'd assert there are as many women making a living out of the deep fake stuff as are being harmed by it, so in that regard a blanket ban probably analogous to banning prostitution. All it will do is send the industry underground making it harder to police. In any case is the producer of deep fakes is doing so for nefarious reasons, the laws related to fraud already exist, and apply not just to porn but also schemes like the misrepresentation of celebrities in online Ponzi schemes.

Finally, bans in general tend to be a lure rather than a deterrent. The people who won't do this stuff don't do it already, and the people likely to do it are almost encouraged by making it harder to do and effectively more lucrative. If you want to stop people doing this stuff, find a way to demonetise it.

The season thus far indicates we raise this pressure rating in fits and starts - score heavily, or get scored heavily against, depending on this pressure. Our win/loss quarter ration is about 50/50. Again, inconsistency raises its head.

And that's been the story of the season so far......patchy. Picking up the rating when we have needed to have won us games but caused us to piss two games down the drain too where we lost it more than the other side has win it.

Most media commentators seemed to think that Vossy's response to last week's loss will be the making of this team.

The line in the sand has well and truly been set - Friday night is a great chance to show how far this team has come.

I was expecting us to come over the top of the Cats until we got to the last couple of minutes.  I suspect that some of our players felt the same way and thought that their teammates would get the job done.  I think we'll see a greater effort across the whole team this Friday.

She talks about common sense, how about the umpire use some and think to himself: Hang on minute, Cripps is standing the mark but it should be Harry "Hey Harry, come back and stand on the mark please, Patrick clear off please". The umpire in that instance has to have the awareness that unintentionally, the wrong player is standing the mark and if he is so adamant to correct it, then farken correct it. Dont penalise the guy after he looks, sees his team mate standing then leaves to get out of the zone. Alternatively, let it slide and play on. Imbeciles (umpire, Football Boss and interviewer, not a brain between them).

The real common-sense aspect is really, who cares who stands the mark. Surely that's up to the players themselves. As long it is someone. It's surely not that hard.

Degoey not likely for the Pies and Mitchell also struggling to get up, if we can get some troops back and they lose a few key ones we should have no excuses and Im confident we can knock the Pies over given their form is only fair this season.

Mitchell has been a liability this season.  Losing him would probably help their chances.

I wonder if they’ll bite the bullet and drop Sidebottom 🤔 We’ll probably play him back into form.

Vossy’s response to our profligate play on Saturday suggests that our players will have a hard week.  It won’t be “bring your mouthguards” but there will be some honest feedback and clarification of roles and expectations.
