Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 9 2024 Post Game Prognostications Carlton vs Melbourne
Just got home  from the game, having a JD to settle the nerves. We did panic a bit in the last quarter and lost our structure.
Take the win and the possitives from the first half and move on.

I was there and agree, we panicked in the last. I did feel when Cerra wehnt down they started to get back into the game.  Anyone 4 points in the bag, :)

Gee, two things late in that game.

Firstly, we are still panicking with the footy and using it poorly, it's like we aren't able to stay composed and we are letting opposition back in mostly through poor ball use.

Secondly, what the feck were some of those free kicks to the Dees, and the non-free to us for virtually the same, and how the hell can those decision all of a sudden become so one sided!

I saw the behind the goals vision of Petracca throwing Hewett to the ground, and the central umpire was standing at our CHB position watching and did nothing! The Dees repeatedly take the footy and try to charge through the pack, it's play on or ball up, Cripps is the only player trying to actually pick the ball up in the middle and gets pinged!

To add to the above what about McLovins no mark in the goal square?? Its either a mark or chopping of the arms

Interesting reads. I genuinely believed we had the players on the ground to beat Collingwood. Was i too optimistic? What i did see was that we played dumb football and got out coached. Dumb football, always kicking the ball into the forward line with no real purpose. Out coached, Collingwood send two extra at all the ball ups and we had no idea what to do to combat this.

Just my thoughts, bring on those Deeeees

We have become their bunnies. Hate those Crows. They have some ordinary players that we play into for. I mean 16.4 bet they dont do that again.

Some have said that TDK would of got smashed if not for Pitto. We don't need to protect TDK, TDK needs to work out how to play these  bigger rucks and some how use the new rules to his advantage.

Adelaide seem to use the Freo model to stifle our ball movement and it worked. I think we will see this from other teams because we don't seem to work out what to do when the opposition starts the kick/ mark game.

Anyway hope the players, ciaching stuff and MC have learnt from this game.

I think we need to try TDK back, Pitto ruck. Gov, Kemp or Young don't look to be the second key back. One of them plays as the 3rd, which ever is fit apparently. We can't play H, Charlie and TDK fwd at the same time. Badly miss a third hybrid fwd like SOS or Martin. No wonder the interest in the kid from Sydney.

What interest and which kid

Whilst I believe we’ll go on with it, we really do need to win next week to make this week count.

Amazing game. Could not be prouder.

BT or, as we refer to him at home ‘hindsight Hodge’ said - Collingwood had a 6 day interstate wet turnaround - does that matter? We missed Cerra after halftime, Walsh and JSOS entire game 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes i remember them saying that loud and clear. I applaud Richo for coming straight back at them and said yeah maybe but Carlton are smashing them at clearances thats why they are winning. Some of the commentary from 7 callers sounded very bias at times for the other mob or maybe it was just me. AND not once did they mention the players we had missing vs a FULL strength other mob who also has a full list to choose from. So yeah this was a huge!!!!!!! win.

Our Club is BROKEN.
First we tried using glue to fix things that didn't work.
So we decide to renovate (good move) this hasn't worked.
Where to now?
Do we start selling assets and see what we can get back?
Do we keep the same landlord?
Do we keep the same property managers?
I now have no emotion watching the games, i cannot even get angry at the TV (like we all do)

Pathetic effort. Pies toyed with us and then took the foot off the gas.

Totally agree. It looked to me that the Collingwood players treated us with contempt and new that they had to do nothing to win. Why because they we would give the ball straight back to them when we had it and we would kick it long in to the forward line to our best player (sorry) their best defender in Moore.

Ok were do i start.
- Do our players know how to setup at centre bounces?
- Do we have a system to come out of the backline after a point is kicked?
- Do our forwards work hard enough up the ground?
- Do our players know how to kick to a leading player?
- Do our players know how to kick?
- Do our players know how to make a good decision?

So we won (apparently) most of the stats last night except for the main one. THE SCORE BORAD.
We will not be playing finals this year because there are not enough bad team below us for us to beat.
Dont know what else to say, most of it has been said in the previous post, is this what we now are going to get from our club all the time.

Rant over
