Kerr and Mullet got our last 2 goals.

Thankyou for update.
Hope they can keep it up for next half. I might be getting ahead of myself but 100 would look great in final score  :P

A good question. Not sure if any other emergencies are not playing.
Now 40 points in front with 4 goals on the trot. So much better than being on the receiving end for a change!

Lots of attacking in the last 12 minutes, but not much scoring. Just a couple of points for all our dominance.
I love writing that about us: dominance. More please!

3/4 time:
Northern Blues 12 - 11 - 83
Frankston 6 - 3 - 39

We've won all 3 quarters so far. 4 goals to 2 in the 3rd, for example.
Palmer 3, Villisaris 2 and Kerr 2 are the multiple goal scorers.

Three quick goals to the Blues and another big mark by Casboult. He now has 3 goals and is looking dangerous.
Last week he was looking languid. I prefer 'dangerous'.

I went along for a look. However, after repeating the old cliche about only being able to beat what the opposition puts on the ground - there was stuff all opposition (especially after 1/2 time) so pretty much every performance had to be downgraded.

O'Shea was the traveling emergency; Garlett was present in a tracksuit with Strachan warming up later that every one else.

Good to see Macreadie playing.

Kerridge dominated the 1st qtr but Graham dominated the match as Kerridge faded.

Not one of our 3 tall forwards (Kerr, Casboult or De Koning) was worth a cracker in the 1st half - all were too one dimensional but joined in the fun after 1/2 time.

Palmer led very well and kicked very straight but he is not Kane Lambert yet.

Mullett and Shaw are just depth players - Schumacher has excellent disposal but didn't play as well as I have seen him so no rush for an AFL game as yet - then again, Polson keeps getting a game.

iirc, Kerr is less than 12 months out from hip surgery, let's hope he gets through the remainder of 2018 injury free, and gets a full pre-season under his belt before 2019.

Nah we just get realistic and analyse the facts and the facts are the opposition were rubbish and you wouldnt get too carried away with players performances given the lack of pressure.
Levi looked like Andre the Giant running around out there and Graham was getting kicks at will and trying to rough up the Frankston auskicker kids...please...just a bit of sanity required on this one...

I think where the club is at, and given the season we've had, any win is really precious, not matter how ugly or unconvincing.

None of our 4 teams will win much for a while. Just enjoy them, without getting carried away or having unrealistic expectations.

Graham does that in virtually every VFL game he plays but one of Levi’s opponents looked like he had been in a good paddock  :)  Frankston did have some big, fit looking lads too.  Of course, Levi generally only had one opponent at a time, as did Kerr - and I thought the latter did very well, particularly with his contested marking and kicking for goal.

Frankston may be rubbish but, in terms of form and ladder position, they are around about our level, as was Werribee the week before.  Given the players we have out (injured and promoted), it was a pretty good win.

From the highlights I can safely say that Frankston were not the same committed team we saw down at Kars Stearlier in the year. However, we aren't the same Northern Blues either.
Early in the season Palmer was OK, Fisher was struggling, Hill was diabolical and the team had very low confidence. We probably had more AFL listed guys that day, including Weitering and Silvagni. It was our first win for the year, as it turned out, but we were nowhere near the line-up we were last weekend. Although there was one similarity: Kym LeBois lasted about 30 seconds, leaving us a man down. This time LeBois got injured the previous week.
On the other hand Frankston had close to their best side available both times.
The present NBs are moving the ball much better, playing with more spirit and confidence, and winning one on one contests.

I would have liked the same intensity from Frankston as we got last time, but I think we would still have won better than we did then.

It seems that LeBois lacks the durability to play VFL, let alone AFL.  He promised so much with that miraculous goal but it’s hard to see how SOS could have any gauge of his ability/potential.  I suspect that it will be too much to ask to show more faith in him.

I'd be more focused on working out how to get Garlett and Pickett to play to their potential....

Both great athletes and footballers (skill wise) with speed BUT struggle to get involved.

Both will be better with a full pre season no doubt.

Pickett is the complete package but seems to get lost in games and has too many time periods where he doesnt touch the footy...needs a run up the field more, Bolton needs to
get more inventive how he uses him.
Garlett by design tends to avoid getting involved in play especially where there is heat on, just likes to sit back and keep the jumper clean...can do the big chase and tackle
but its more a novelty tease than anything regular....give him another year but I'd like to see his attack on the ball improve...has the skills so its a shame to see him not involved more.

Pickett hasn't played much footy on the past five or so years with significant injuries.   He's essentially a second-year player in his development at best.  I'd persist but he must get fitter to stay more involved.

Picket indeed does not not look AFL-standard fit to me and if he was he could be a very dangerous player imo. Garlett , on the other hand, does look fitter but seems to prefer a more outside type role. Both go missing at times but for different reasons.

Yep, get Pickett uber fit and play him more in the guts.....quicker than most other players without trying too hard presently....

Garlett, if he can snare 1.5 goals a game and chase a bit, that's ok.

My forward six, 2019 on...

HF        Fasolo     Charlie    Garlett

FF         Pickett    Big H       SOJ/Crippa/Kennedy

Back ups:   Kerr/Lamb/Wright/Lang/Levi

And yes, multiples medical opinions on Fasolo.

Do the medical opinions have to be the same? If you want multiple opinions that would be easy I think.

What I like about Pickett is his clean ball handling.... You can't teach that.   Players that fumble cost you in big games.

Every time he has the ball in his hands I look forward to the outcome, not many players you can say that about. If building his fitness will allow him to get it more often then we can strap ourselves in for a pretty exciting ride.

Wouldn't touch Fasolo with a barge pole...

Make that two barge poles!  I'd rather gamble on another youngster if we can't get an established player of greater value/impact than Fasolo.

Fasalo has good skills and is a great mark for inches but cant stay on the park, not the greatest trainer either is Fazzy boy as he likes to be known and I dont think he would
fit the requirements of Bolton/SOS who will be looking more for that pressure type of small/med forward who will chase/tackle and create turnovers.
Fasalo is more your one on one player where he can outmark his opponent or get hit up on the lead, he doesnt do much of the 1%ers...
I'd be tipping he will want to return to WA....

Seems to spend a lot of the time injured.

Well, he kicked 29.29 in 2017.

If he had kicked remotely straight (which he normally does) he'd be a 40+ goal kicker....easily.

Sure the ankle/foot needs due diligence....but the guy is class and experienced.

Would come cheaply me thinks.

Salary cap concerns the Pies do have.....

You know this based on what exactly?

The only people in the industry talking up Fasolo's chances are Collingwood list managers and his manager.

Collingwood are hoping to get some cheap draft picks or top up players for what is effectively a lemon!

His manager wants to scrape the bottom of the pie tin leaving nothing there, even if it comes at Fasolo's mental and physical expense!

The car-salespeople of the AFL!

There would be some genuine irony for fans who have bagged some of our Geelong and other recycling attempts, Daisy, Kerridge, criticising Kreuzer or Murphy on durability, to then be promoting Fasolo!

While I understand the need for Carlton get hold of a couple of mature age, experienced, durable, capable, aggressive, strong, 24x7 type players.

It would seem that players able to get on the park at any level would be the starting point to being durable, capable and 24x7!

After an off-season to freshen up, I'd rather draft Sam Mitchell as a playing coach!
