Robert Heatley Stand / Jim Park Voting 2024 AFL Rd 10 Carlton vs Sydney
Voting is as usual: you have 15 votes to award pretty much as you will, with the following provisos:
[1] 15 votes in total, no more, no less.
[2] No more than 10 votes for any one player (even Sam Walsh or Patrick Cripps)
[3] Three players at least must get a mention.
[4] A grade for the game, A+ (what I want to see) to F-.

Ladies Lounge / Re: VFLW 2024
Considering that we lost to Darebin, who won for the first time in ages, it was a very poor result.  :(  :(

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: VFL 2024 Rd 7 Carlton vs Casey at Carlton
Binns: 42 possessions, 11 marks, 5 tackles, 5 clearances, but in the last couple of moment he had a couple of serious mistakes. Still, he got leather poisoning.

Casey wanted it more, especially at the end. We have too many who are not hard nuts. Many of them were disappointing tonight.

Fantasia: 22 possessions, but not a single score.

Moir: 6 possessions. Disappointing.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 9 2024 Post Game Prognostications Carlton vs Melbourne
[1] We really missed Cerra when he went off, he had 21 possessions in just over 2 quarters and really foiled many of their attempted centre breaks.
We need to get him right and in form for the finals. After the season maybe we should see some sort of hamstring specialist, as he's getting too many of these.

[2] Alex Cincotta! He was brilliant tonight, slaughtering Pickett again and doing some marvellous defensive things.

[3] Our defence was so much better this week than last week, even with a few blemishes in the last quarter. McGovern had a difference because he attacked the ball. Kemp did well until he had a brain fade and didn't punch. Weitering was probably BOG, he was that dominant.
Cripps and Walsh were very good, but they never dominated like Weitering did.

[4] Free Kicks: My God, we were crucified. I don't want to go through all of them, but there were so many after half time! Without them, Melbourne wouldn't have got close.
But that big tackle on Petracca near siren time: absolute Gold!

[5] Ollie Hollands played his best game for the year (by a huge margin), but he needs to learn to be more aware of players moving in on him. Three HTBs is not good enough.
His efforts in the first half, on the other hand, were excellent.

B: Marchbank, S.Durdin, Le. Young
HB: Wilson, Akuei, La. Young
C: Ramshaw, Binns, Cuningham
HF: Cahill, Monahan, Moir
F: McMahon, Lemmey, Mirkov

R: O'Keeffe, Carroll, Fantasia

INT: Prout, White, Poole*, Lewis, Nelson

EMG: Hogg, Phillips, Stevens, Maher, Lambert, Gill, Lefroy

More experience this week, but we are a very tall side. Not sure all the talls will be on the ground at once.
That Phillips is Emergency tells a lot about how he is going. Not providing the drive we'd hoped for.

Our forward line looks unbalanced, but our midfield looks much better than it was a couple of weeks back. I can't see Fantasia as rover. He badly needs to get some ball though.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Jim Park Voting 2024 AFL Rd 8 Carlton vs Collingwood
AFL Rd 8:   Carlton vs Collingwood

Rating:      C+
We lost by a goal to last year’s premiers and probably should have won. Granted that we were nowhere near our best, but we led for most of the game. We weren’t dreadful. Still it was disappointing.

Votes:
[2]   Sam Walsh
[2]   Nic Newman
[2]   Harry McKay
[2]   Jacon Weitering
[2]   Blake Acres
[1.5]   George Hewett
[1.5]   Marc Pittonet
[1]   Tom de Koning
[1]   Alex Cincotta
[0.5]   Matthew Owies
[0.5]   Patrick Cripps

Explanations:
[2]   Sam Walsh:      33 possessions and 8 clearances suggested Walsh was pretty good. Pity about the last 90 seconds.
[2]   Nic Newman:      32 possessions and 6 tackles, and more metres gained than anyone else, but he was a little fumbly and not at his best.
[2]   Harry McKay:      Dominated and kicked 4. Pity his last attempted pass was to nobody.
[2]   Jacon Weitering:   Close to BOG. Slaughtered his opponent.
[2]   Blake Acres:      32 possessions and a magnificent last quarter, but was fumbly before that.
[1.5]   George Hewett:   A solid job in the middle. 30 possessions, 5 tackles and 6 clearances.
[1.5]   Marc Pittonet:      Brilliant early and was the best ruck on the park.
[1]   Tom de Koning:   Tom’s game as a forward was actually pretty good. He was the worst ruck on the ground by some margin, but he did get a fair bit of ball. Too many fumbles up the ground. This vote is just for his forward play.
[1]   Alex Cincotta:      Did a job and did it brilliantly.
[0.5]   Matthew Owies:   3 goals was great.
[0.5]   Patrick Cripps:      Tactics holding Cripps out of it were questionable, but Cripps was really good early and tried his guts out all night.

Honourable Mentions:
Elijah Hollands:      Not a bad job.
Adam Cerra:         Solid in the middle, but lacked the flair he often has.
