VFL starts this weekend and the Blues are up against the team that poached 4 players from us. Very interesting to see how things turn out.

Is the second squad the development league?

Why on earth would you play Cripps and Holman there?

Named on the HBF for the senior NB's. Alongside Giles and Docherty.

We are a VERY young side.

Yes. The second squad is the development side.
I don't know if Cripps or Holman will play in it yet, but with the interchange guys from the seniors named, a number of the 'bench' players (who are also named in the development side) will play. Very few Preston guys appear to be playing. To get some in the side, a few Blues have to go down. Holman, Sheehan & co MAY play in the development side, but that won't be certain until game day, when the bench players are finalized.

I wouldn't have thought any of the senior squad would play in the 2s because they play before the AFL game. Surely you don't risk your 3 EMGs in case they have to be late inclusions later that night. Why bother naming them unless the seniors play before the VFL?

So no Bell, White, Ellard, McLean, Carrazzo, Lucas, Casboult. You would think at least Holman and Cripps will play at 2:00pm.

FMD, that Norther Blues side would have been our senior team in  2005.
The Ox is slow but I'm running out of patience.

All a bit confusing re selection.

I'm guessing that we're wanting Cripps & co to learn some very basics so hence their dev league selection, if this is in fact true.

Anyone else heading to Princes Park on Sunday? I'm looking forward to attending this game and seeing, first hand, some of our newbies.
Only our ruthless best, from Board to bootstudders will get us no. 17

Certainly looks like our reserves for sure.  ;)

Andy Mackay says Levi's a starter in the seniors so there's one change I guess.

Ironic how Collins has a swipe at Preston regarding players then has the chutzpah to put up a team in the first round that has ex-Preston players in it.

18 AFL clubs had a chance to review the likes of Lambert and Marcon... it obviously wasn't just Carlton that didn't see enough to make the commitment.
DrE is no more... you ok with that harmonica man?

Odd. He's been named as EMG. Would've thought he be in for backup ruck duties.

Ciaran Byrne, one of our international recruits, is cutting loose in the Development Team match.  3 goals at half time, some great grabs and 2 goals from the 50 m line.  Could be one to watch???
