We just can't seem to get all 22 humming along and contributing. Last night showed why I have been saying McGovern needs to GTFO of our club.  Ditto Cunningham. People going on about SPS's game, pfft, he can go also.
Cameron Bruce also needs to go, we need a fwd line coach that has some semblance of a clue and that can introduce a system that our "football mental" lightweights can cope with. This year is shot but for FFS, get a specialist goal kicking coach back at the club. Sav, Fev, Dunstall, someone that again has some idea of how to teach all our guys how to kick a football from a set shot.
I turned it off after they kicked the 6th as it was just too hard to watch. Taken was on, at least I know Liam Neeson shoots straight. I found out Carlton won via text so I watched the game from that point on. Showed some ticker to get back from 6.5 goals down, never should have got in that predicament in the first place. Can't help but be negative after that, sorry.

Been on the predictor. If the Dogs, Giants and Dees lose one then we have to beat Adelaide well, a close win won't likely do, and Brisbane (ouch...good luck) and we get in. We need to get the percentage to around 102%. Then we get a trip to Perth.....oh yay.

Tough ask but it's good that we are somehow still playing for a finals spot 2nd last match. Somehow keep hanging in. We should be near entrenched but hope we learn from that.
We need to win both and do it by about 40ish points (combined) to get the percentage required to make it.

We also need at least any 2 of these....
1. Pies to lose both (GC and Port)
2. Dogs to lose one (Freo and Haw)
3. Gws to lose one game (Mel+Stk)*
4. Dees to lose one game (GWS+Ess)*

...and no big blowout wins for dogs or gws as their % will be about the same as ours.

* Note, GWS and Dees play eachother. Whoever wins that, needs to lose the last week. Whoever loses that can win the following week.

Good win, but as others have said Sydney’s 7 goal start was unacceptable and really exposed our coaching preparation especially with respect to going inside 50 against the swans.

Very pleased to say that I was wrong on Plowman vs Papley. Seemed to me that we were going to get a repeat of the Jaidyn Stephenson running around Plowman but he proved me wrong. Still think we’re missing a fast small/medium defender in the Jed Bews, Rory Laird mould.

SPS to the midfield must happen.

The Moth will get his 15 minutes of fame, courtesy of a nice mark and set shot, and yet again we get the miracle victory in the dying moments, but the real take away for me was the genuine physicality on display. I can't remember the last time I saw a Carlton team play such a physical brand.

Playing blokes like Casboult,  SPS in their proper roles helps.
DrE is no more... you ok with that harmonica man?

The first quarter and a half was absolutely unequivocally unacceptable.

The upside? We are getting it into our F50 more than the opposition which means, fix that and that’s another step up. And we can do that but we need smart ball movers going into F50. Yes SPS stuffed that kick in but our forwards just do not battle hard enough in the F50. For such a huge man, Casboult would have to be the easiest person to push out of the way I’ve seen. They also don’t play for each other in the F50, lots of flying for it rather than creating something for one of them.

Thought we missed Gibbo last night, Fish was fantastic and happy Owies got a go but Gibbo is now seasoned Around the packs and would’ve impacted more.

MCG can leave now As far as I’m concerned. Constantly Looking at the umpire for a free rather than working hard to get it himself. Lazy.

Certainly our physicality seemed especially intense last night.
Reality always wins in the end.

Some real lacklustre attempts at tackling too.  Granted in the last he did do some important tackles but still not enough.

Does anyone think, with the shortened quarters, it may be harder to work yourself into the quarter if you’re struggling?

The gov stunk it up again and is badly out of form. He should be dropped for Kennedy.

Even so. He's a good player when in form. I haven't given up on him yet.

Sad but true... can't keep playing blokes in bad form regardless of who they are. Even when Crippa was struggling he was still doing his job for the side. Brackets is just wasting space and keeping out someone who deserves a chance.

Love your optimism, but you know you're r00ted when you begin to say, "If they... then those... and we... followed by... and that happens twice... then we'll..." I reckon we'll finish 10th, which is a strong step in the right direction. These blokes know they're a flea's franger from playing finals, and doing well in finals. Just a coupla quality ins, on-field and in the assistant coaching ranks, and look out, the swagger might be back.
