Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 24 2024 Post Game Prognostications Carlton vs St, Kilda
I watched Moir closely in the pre-game warm up - he uses whichever foot suits where he is on the ground.  In his practice shots at goal, when he was left of centre, he kicked with his right foot, when he was right of centre (like his shot in the last quarter), he kicked with his left foot.    Seriously could not tell which was his preferred foot.

This guy is a real smokey, can't wait to see him after he has another pre-season under his belt.

Yep, remember that video around the time of his drafting? Seriously talented. I have not seen a kick like him at Carlton.

I'd have Moir in the starting team. The kid has X factor and everything he has done has been  class. He is pacy and hard running.  He is the future.

I would get him training with Adam Saad over summer, we will lose players again next year to injury, and having another running back with precision kicking skills would be invaluable. Obviously, he can play forward as well so from a team balance perspective this give him the greatest possibility of playing regular football in the seniors.

Just too good to leave out. Imagine this bloke with 50 games into him.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: VFL 2024 Rd 11 Carlton vs Essendon at Essendon
We need to stop wasting list spots on 'developing ruckman', and go and recruit them when we need them. Scour the national leagues, find the best available we think can offer a bit (play back, forward and Ruck), then recruit them in to try to force out Pittonet. If they can't then we either delist and go again, or if they show they are capable, then they stay as the understudy.

About two would be nice - Campo boys coming through I suppose but in this game we had no mid controlling the game

That comes back to what I was saying in the VFL thread last year. We don't aim to win anything. It seems to be just a development run around. Why not try to build a winning culture and actively recruit some guys who can be that controlling mid regardless of who comes down from the 1st team?
