We talk up our kids like most bottom teams do, yet was concerning how the top teams kids looked every bit as promising as ours....Walsh aside.
Having said that congratulations to Sammy Walsh for breaking most disposals in first season. Nice to watch a kid that you don’t have any questions over.
It’s quite concerning just how badly some of our young players go into their shell and hesitate. I’m hoping Teague has something up his sleeve in the pre-season that makes them breath fire and have a red hot go. That and a new game plan that doesn’t rely so much on long kicking down the boundary.
Hit below the knee on Obrien, which counts as a kick.
Not only did the field umpire screw us over when the goal umpire thought it was a goal....and tried to say that no review is required....the umpire in the box came back with touched as well.
FMD! How???
Umpires call i would have accepted, but flat out behind is bollocks for many reasons.
Bingo
How?
I concede the Geelong player may have touched it straight off the boot. But then it came off a Carlton player below the knee. Just as the goal umpire said.
How did the field umpire over rule it? Why the didn’t the goal umpire say what he saw? Why didn’t the video replay see it?
So the goal umpire says it’s come off a Carlton player below the knee after the kick, how does the field umpire get to over rule ithe goal when it’s after any Geelong player is any where near it?
Good win. We like to charge late from behind though don’t we? Just once I’d like to see us start strong, stay well ahead and then finish even stronger. Shame Sydney won last night, we could have moved up the ladder.
Someone from Carlton had better be going to AFL HQ with the tape from last week and the end of that quarter and asking for a please explain. Complete carp.
