VFL Rd 11: Northern Blues Bye

For the 2nd time this season the Baby Blues have a bye. In some ways it is useful: it allows the whole group to have a few days off and refresh. But guys like Silvagni, Sheehan and Korchek need time on the park.

Such is life.

Can't they play 3rds? What are the rules about dropping players back to the development league?

Would they not have a bye as well?

They might, although there is a different amount of teams in the VFL DL compared to the VFL. Not sure how they do their fixturing.

Korchek played in the Development League on Saturday (I wonder if that's the first time a relatively high level team has had two Americans - both playing ruck?).

From what I have seen of Korchek and Sheehan, they will be working their butts off and SOJ will probably be the same.  However, as Crash pointed out, they need game time.
