Wouldnt give up yet...Tigers have been good and Lynch looks good but there are still 3/4 left and 5 goals is nothing.
Tigers are better drilled and we still have no system down forward......needed to tighten up down back and get more contested footy...

So,  what did we do this summer Brendan,  any drills or match simulation involving the application of pressure on the ball carrier? Any defensive strategies at all?

We're a joke.   End of q1 and it's over.... opening game of the year and even the most optimistic should be worried.

Just got in, put the pies on (weekly treat), fed the dog, deliberately avoided knowing the score, made a cuppa then turned on the teev knowing it would be early in the 2nd... 40-1... WTF! Talk about ill-prepared. I was just about to write, 'Well, it can't get any worse...' but thought better of it.

Daisy Phillips and Cripps the best so far.

Ball movement is so goddam slow, and too many players with no leg speed.

Still no game plan, or its a crap 1.
And that's a coaching problem not a player problem.
I thought Teague was supposed to be good forwards coach?
I'm not seeing it, either that or our players are hopeless at following instructions.

Cleary they are a better team but boys had a real dip that quarter.

Like the look of new boys in settlefield and Walsh. Will only get better.

Cunningham looks much better too.

Desperately need Charlie to get involved. Crying out for a marking forward with both McGovern and Harry covered.

There’s a tiny light.

Joe, all our forwards are ca ca, especially "Hollywood" Curnow.  He sucked during the JLT series and he's way off it.    It doesn't help how the ball comes in...and the our tall timber aren't taking marks....  and all too predictably it goes out waaaaaaay too easily.  That's part of Fasalo's job description.

It would be nice if somebody could at least make Rance accountable by taking the odd mark on him or pressuring him when he has the ball.

Whatever system Bolton et al. have instigated to move the ball forwards, I'm just not seeing it.

Tigers took the foot off the gas that quarter to make us look good... they are 20+ goals better than us.

If there's a light it's a 1.5 V LED stationed beyond Pluto....which is pretty dim from where I'm standing.

Curnow and McKay are worst on ground. Fasolo not much better.

If they don't mark it, there is no pressure when it hits the deck from them.

Perhaps Polson would've helped in this regard.....

Generally agree Shawny.

On another note, I think folks really underestimate how much has to go right, and how much competence is required, to effect a winning culture. It's not just about change. There's no brains required to make changes. You can make a million changes - If you don't know what you're doing, it's just change for the sake of looking like you're doing something, and none of the changes will make any difference.

Boys have lifted. Pressure rate skyrocketing.

Plowmans tackle on Dusty was the start of 3 tackles in 30 seconds which shows we are on.

Rance going down with injury just eliminated the momentum we just gathered.

Hopefully our key forwards can take advantage of a ranceless backline.

He played a blinder this game last year.

We are in a similar position to this time last year at 3/4 time.

Stage is set for Charlie, no Rance on the ground. He should be released now.

Gibbons has been very quiet
Fasolo has stunk it up
Curnow brothers put in their worst games ever
Walsh has gone missing lately.
Weitering has struggled one on one.
Garlett very quiet
Setterfield struggled to make an impact.

Too many passengers, unfit players and blokes not up to afl speed in there.

Which is why i was saying we need a player like Polson in the team. Someone who almost gets enjoyment out of pressuring, chasing tackling the opposition.
Compared to our 2 FPs (Fas and Gibbons) who have been a non event.

As i said in the pre-match, no point having 2 dedicated FPs if you can't get the ball down there or keep it there when you do.
