It was very nice to be on the winning end of last night's encounter, but it did show up why we probably are not going to feature in the finals.
Nichevo. A win is a win is a win. So reward those who deserve a mention.

A solid effort with a lot of positives. Adelaide came to play, but we still managed to get on top of them.

Explanations:
[3]   Simpson:   One of his great games, Simmo was in everything. He managed to hit targets and really show leadership.
[1.5]   Gibbs:   An excellent effort from Gibbs, keeping his opponents under pressure while getting class possessions of his own.
[1.5]   Everitt:   Took Sloane to the cleaners. Really had a good game.
[1.5]   Rowe:   An excellent game in defence.
[1.5]   White:   Took his opponents to the cleaners.
[1.5]   Jamison:   Excellent in defence.
[1.5]   McLean:   Strong in the midfield.
[1]   Armfield:   Made Dangerfield ineffective and did some exciting things himsef.
[1]   Thomas:   His best game for Carlton, with his will and his output getting closer together.
[0.5]   Menzel:      Showed a lot of forward. I’d like to see more of it though.
[0.5]   Docherty:   Very good, with some classy goals.

Honourable Mentions:
Waite:   Kicking was so bad, but the rest his game was promising.
Walker:   Solid, but tended to run into trouble.
Buckley:   Very good until injured.
Warnock:   Beaten on the night, but he lifted when it was required and he kept the Adelaide rucks from getting any marks. His ability to compete was the difference between winning and losing in the centre square.
Yarran:   Like Walker, he did some great things, but he ran into trouble too often and made serious mistakes. He will be better.
Murphy: Solid and effective even under a heayy tag.
