Nothing has changed.

Fisher given clear possession at a stoppage inside F50, on his left foot in space and cannot pull the trigger!

We supposedly have three marking forwards. mackay, mgovern, Charlie, and we can't get it to them. Cripps decision making was shocking.

Brown reckons that was a shocking decision. Whether or not it was, why do these fwits even go close to giving away a free kick. The umpires are looking to give thoise frees all the time.

If he gets the punch wrong the ground support is zero, so I'd happily back him in to mark, at least that stops the opposition without any dependency on the others who are ghosts!

Having suffered through that quarter, I reckon you could have Jock Mchale, Ron Barassi, Alistair Clarkson and GOD coach them, and it wouldn't make a difference.

They lack confidence, skills, and the young blokes don't have the strength to stick a tackle, while the others don't know how.

It's going to be a loooong second half of the season.

Title: Re: In Game Carlton v Fitzroy Rnd 12
Post by: LP on June 08, 2019, 02:18:36 pm
Free them up.

They refuse to kick a goal. Five times that quarter players running free inside F50 fecked up short kicks rather than having a shot!

Watch the last passage of that quarter to see a team that has no fking clue at all how to use space in forward line get an easy uncontested mark. 17 other teams get a shot on goal from an easy lead to space there.....but not us.  :-[

When you combine no clue with worse skills in afl we are basket case and need 5 priority picks to improve.

Laughing stock

How can that be, it was Bolton's fault!

The media types are making excuses for them now, they have to in order to save face, because they blamed the coach for this a week ago!

I replayed it myself a few more times. They were no more than two metres out from goal, and he's tried to mark it one handed.

Anyway, that won't be the worst thing that one of our blokes do today.

There a defensive punch, goal to Brisbane, no crumbers, no infantry, no reinforcements at ground level.

It has an effect on defenders, don't blame them because this is relentlessly the same crap week after week!
Title: Re: In Game Carlton v Fitzroy Rnd 12
Post by: bignic on June 08, 2019, 02:25:37 pm
How can that be, it was Bolton's fault!

I have never said the players were any good. In fact I have always said, they have no kicking skills, they can't tackle, their decision making is woeful, and they totally lack confidence.

So the question is why. And the buck fort them being hopeless begins and ends with the coach and that was Bolton.

They are so bad following three and a half years of Bolton's coaching, that at this point in time, and that is what I meant by my comment, and should have stated that opinion more clearly, it wouldn't matter who coached them at this time, it is back to the drawing board under a new, hopefully experienced coach next year.

Hoorah, it's a -100pt Bounce coming up! ;D

Kids like to stand still, so we handball to them, must be the coach!

Brisbane's tall KPDs, run off our small / medium defenders and mids, it's bullcrap!

We could be 80pts down already if not for Weitering, and it's not even 1/2-time!

"The Bounce" is dead, long live "The Bounce", eh?

Putting your faith in the 'bounce' is unrealistic... has only happened in a whisker over 50% of the time.

A certain way to play is inground. As I said before, it'll take time to retrain these blokes. Still no confidence, still issues with skills. The damage is deep.

I'm mirroring all the crap I been reading on this site for the past week!

Maybe I'm no good at it, perhaps I better leave it up to MBB!

FMD, finally someone wants to kick a goal!

Simpson too slow, can't pull the trigger in under 4s or 5s, 15 years of kicking backwards has become a habit!

WTF is it with trying to kick the ball out of packs when we have blokes free in the open just a handball away! I'm talking about our senior players!

Would've topped off a decent comeback at least. We really tried to create something during the 2nd half of that qtr but we almost didn't know how. This will take some retraining.

Pulling a 37 pt deficit, in quarter, back to 18 pts was a good effort.

How good is Walsh!

Good to see something from Setterfield... Sav back to PP to teach the kid how to kick - absolutely no confidence with his kicking.

There was some good composure later in that qtr, Fluffy One. Our errors for the first qtr and a half were embarrassing for a senior side...

Bolton is gone, I dont give a fark who was there or who is there now. But don't you think it is even a little bit sad to expect any senior coach at AFL level needing to teach players basic skills? How do we continually draft players that cant kick or handball?

It's not the sacking of BB, or any other coach, it's the weathervane and merry-go-round of excuses and blame by our club and it's fans that burn me!

Today's first quarter and a half show you just how wrong the reactive decision was, no matter who was coach, the reasons for our problems were obvious and are to remain unchanged this week or for the rest of the season! Even if we could win it won't change that fact!

I haven't said on any post that they can't win. In fact I hope they do...... for my Grandsons sake. at least. He's so used to us losing, that he doesn't cry anymore. :(

As a 65 year supporter and member, I'm just so bloody disappointed at what I have seen over the last 15 or so years.

I lived through similar cr@p in the 50's and 60's till Barassi came along, but this is far worse.

I hold the Board from the President down responsible for the debacle we are witnessing.

Bolton is gone, and I'm not going to harp on him any further, other than to say, that I had my fears from day one about him.

Had the results been the same or even two or three wins better  over the last three and a half years, it wouldn't have been good, but  I wouldn't have been concerned, provided their kicking skills, decision making, tackling ability, etc etc etc had improved.

But they haven't. Petrevski's kick under no pressure in the last minute of the second quarter where he could not hit a target, is symptomatic of the malaise that this team suffers.

I hope that whomever is appointed coach will take a long hard look at blokes like Fisher, Dow, Sammo, LOB, Matt Kennedy and others, as to whether or not they are up to the standard necessary to be part of a finals team, let alone a premiership team.

I can forgive Setterfield a bit, because he's been out for a long time and is only 20 or 21, and will hopefully get better.

I don't envy David Teague the next 11 weeks, but I wish him well and hope that this team will do nothing other than give everything they can each week, so that if he doesn't get the job next year, at least he won't leave the position a shattered man, and will be able to have future as a coach if not with us then elsewhere.

Title: Re: In Game Carlton v Fitzroy Rnd 12
Post by: LP on June 08, 2019, 03:19:44 pm

You actually have a clue? Every time you post you look more silly. Time to stop embarrassing yourself.

Bolton was the head coach for the previous 77 games. Rest were poor old assistants trapped inside his plan.

You're absolutely right, send me another messiah!

Maybe supporters are the reason we've suffered 15 years of bullcrap, we'd be better off without them! Everytime they jeer we lose!

Over the last few weeks, all I've heard is things like having SoJ or Gibbons as marking targets was Bolton's fault. Small and medium defenders not crumbing Bolton's fault, Walsh and Dow missing targets open targets with unforced errors Bolton's fault. Charlie chook running, Bolton's fault, McKay not contesting marks, SPS, Dow, Fisher missing goals from 20m out, Bolton's fault, Bolton's fault, Bolton's fault!

Yet there it is all still there today, much of it organisational not skills based!

Lesson for some .... keep your powder dry.

52 point turn around.
Beat a team in the top 8.
100% win record for the new coach.
Tagged kills their best mid field player.
Cripps kicks highest goal score ever.
Cripps highest disposals.
We win a screwen game against the odds.
Records all around for a season.
Walsh was a screwen ripper too by the way.

I could see during the 2nd qtr they were really trying to create but took them a while to learn how again. Just persists and it comes.
