A ball butcher is only a serious issue combined with poor ball use.

The important thing is the ability to assess the situation and choose the right option.  I reckon most blokes who kick poorly are often not poor kicks of the footy but just absolutely choose the wrong option.

This is why Carrots, Simpson and Curnow are okay.  You wouldnt want too many that are not great kicks of the footy, but so long as they choose the right option and get close enough to that mark, then that can hide the problem a little bit.

This is what hurt Mitch the most I think.  Its not that he was a butcher, its just that he often chose the wrong targets.  This can amplify the inability to hit targets as they choose targets they think they are capable of hitting rather than ones they know that they can.
