Post Game Passion; AFL Rd 18: Carlton vs Collingwood

We will answer the question: Can the Blues stand up this week?
Granted our team has many structural problems, but we don't have quite as many as we did last week. Can we pull out the finger?

Nice win for the club and Jack who was emotional at games end, reckon Serge gave him an extra helping hand with that nice back climbing mark he took too. Like the way Kennedy and Dow took on the responsibility to take on that extra work load with Cripps missing and it was made harder with Grundy as the opposition ruckman so kudos to them both.
Liked Stockers shepherd at the end too...nice and physical is that kid and exactly whats required...
Enjoyable always to beat at the Pies and end their run of success against us in recent games.
Onwards and upwards....

I said to Mrs Baggers at 3/4 time, "We'll win this and H will kick 4" She told me I was nuts... although that is likely true, the way we were dominating the stopages in the 3rd was such a great sign of attitude and endeavour.

Wrapped to see Martin and Williams finally step up.

Pretty ordinary mob, Rottingwood.

Walsh... Walsh... what a champ. A+++

Da da da da dah... da da da da dah...

For you, Serge...
Only our ruthless best, from Board to bootstudders will get us no. 17

You could see in the second quarter they were tackling with intent and the structure seemed to firm up

At 3/4 time being 8 points down I thought we were a good chance, Collingwood seemed to tire and their last quarter last week would’ve taken it out of them.

But even with that, we kept at it- TDK did very well, JSOS’ last mark, Sam’s goal, H grabbing everything that came at home - fish, Martin, Eddie, Kennedy -
Hard working!

Weiters, love ya!

First time we have come from behind at 3/4 time this year.
I said in the pregame with DJC that this game would show what character the blokes possess. They showed they have plenty of ticker which was refreshing to see. Everyone to man lifted when required.

@Baggers - That win showed what I was talking about in the pregame, player driven. Despite playing crapola early, they never gave up, they never dropped their heads, Walsh and Weitering (and Jones) were pure inspiration for 4 qtrs. Everyone around them were a shambles, they just kept plugging away and inspired their team mates. Thats how I saw it anyway.

58-9 last 1 1/2 qtrs. The goal that got we literally handed to them.

Spot on, GTC Old Son. Everyone put in, especially in that last qtr. This'll be great for their confidence and will show them what you can achieve with ruthless persistence (and scoreboard reward for effort).

Undermanned and far from our best footy, but the talent there is obvious.

We continue to beat the sides we should (with the odd exception) and are not embarrassed by anyone.

I've been saying it for a while now, but we are NOT that far away.

Does Teague & his assistants get any credit for the comeback? Did he adjust after the Pies took the lead? Even if he didn’t, he should get credit for not panicking and allowing the players to fight back. The players’ effort also shows he hasn’t lost the players.
