Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Rd 2: Carlton vs. Sydney: Post Game Passion
Up against an A team today. I thought we did OK, a 60 pt loss is better than an 80 pt loss right. Fabulous lesson for the youngsters early in the season, should give them the feel for what it takes to mix it with genuine contenders. Sydney's youngsters were as impressive as their seasoned stars.

I liked what I saw of Daisy's return. Once he warmed up he didn't say die. Loved him out marking Buddy. If he can be consistent and stay on the park, he'll fuel the development of the baby blues. Cripps got the attention we expected, shame he didn't have more support in the middle, or from the ruck for that matter. Ruck is a real issue, although I think Phillips might be OK in time if he can bulk up. In the meantime????

It was a tough gig in defense today but I thought Rowe, Doc, and Whiite did OK. Jamo looked cooked and it was one of those rarities when Simmo was behind the eight ball.  Weitering will be a superstar.

Good for young Charlie kicking a nice goal on debut. He'll benefit from the quality he was amongst and can only improve. Ed was his consistent self, unlike too many of his senior counterparts. I thought Wright and Kerridge held their own, for the most part. Levi's success in front of goals will hopefully build his confidence.

Although our 100gamer didn't star, I loved the 'what the hell' he gave Buddy. Stirred up a great little passion builder before the break.

We've got a long way to go - but we know that. It'll take time and some new faces. We had a crack today and I saw some green shoots.
Bring in the likes of Plowman, some luck with injury and we'll see some wins

Thanks to the reporters - much appreciated.
It's encouraging to hear that we may be creating some genuine competition for spots. The last couple of years has seen some players gifted I thought. That will retard the development of any list.
Sounds like we have a mix of smalls and talls showing promise and a coach that's got some fire.
Happy with this weeks results all in all.
Go Blue Boys

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2016 Ladder - Going Early
We may yet finish on the bottom, if our list cannot stay reasonably fit. That was one of our main issues in 2015.If we HAVE to play the kids before they are ready, then we may well be bottom. But that doesn't bother me. I will be happy to see us being competitive and to see the list develop (as it hasn't for far too long).
Essendon, on the other hand, look more like we were in 2003 - 2006. They will need a LOT of draft luck to turn that around. (I am really happy about that - is their an emoji for smile like a shark?)

As for Mr. Ralph, I doubt our staff will be worrying about his credibility that much. More likely to take notice of Caro (and that is hard enough for anyone). :)

Weiters stroking the CFC on his guernsey after being drafted was a magic moment.

Yes, I was intrigued as he seemed to be in a state of complete absorption. As my nan would have said - penny for your thoughts son.
The SOS family scene was special too. Young Jack's anxiety was palpable, as was his tears of joy - which I don't mind saying, I shared with him.

Love The Journey my, or should I say OUR, club is on. Impressed with Bolts techniques of allowing the boys to "feel the experience" opposed to telling them or having them "talking about the experience". Powerful experiential learning cleverly combined with vicarious learning. capped with reflection and celebration... Very cool.... Must have been freeking freezing in the water in Tassie
I'll be watching for those green shoots with a confidence that the club's building with integrity and unity.
Go Blues.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: NAB Challenge: Carlton vs. Sydney at Etihad
If Weitering v Buddy, he'll not only learn about what he does right/not, but will learn about how steely his constitution is. I have no doubt that our players will benefit most from the greatest of challenges. I did however, squirm a little with this match up. Bring it and let's see what can be gained.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Power forward?
Exactly!

He reminded me of a human pinball the way he was crashing into opponents but he seems to have no idea about getting to where the ball is heading.  If he does get to a marking contest, hard hands means that he's most likely to spill it.

Cant see the pill..... Only the big targets..... I'd be getting my eyes tested 8)

Honest appraisals of where they're at and where we're at . . . and there's a lot to like  :)

Can't wait...... Its been pretty gloomy on here today.
To date: the club put on a fabulous day out at IP, excelled like yesteryear off field, collected $0, signed up ? Members, saw something from the new draftees (including a bit of fight), and have more spuds than an Irish stew.
Bring it on DJC  :D
