Loving pittonets game tonight.
He is being a real pest. Got inside gawns head early. Tackling well and getting the dees players to lose focus on the ball and we are benefiting from it.
Of course his goal and general ruck play has been good too.
It's been a long time since we've had a ruck with some genuine aggression, enjoys the hard stuff and loves the verbal.
Reckons he might have a broken finger too.
Hopefully he can keep gawn quiet for 1 more quarter.
Agree...That would be something and could be a catalyst for change, finding that player brave enough would be the tough task.
Maybe a gay senior AFL Administrator might be able to entice a few players to come out together and make it less pressure than just one individual having to shoulder all the attention they would get.
“Resting” Zac won’t improve his ability to stay on the park. He was subbed off for a corked calf one week and a corked glute the next week. Two impact injuries or Zac’s body saying enough is enough?
If we were to “manage” Zac, who comes into the team, Billy Wilson? Perhaps we could play Kennedy in defence and bring back Carroll?
Our situation is nothing like Geelong’s. They have almost a full list to pick from and half a dozen veterans who can benefit from an occasional spell. We have half a dozen players who probably aren’t up to the demands of AFL, several other injured players and no veterans who need an occasional spell.
Charles has become something of a (considerable) impact player. Very little for 100 minutes + 15-20 minutes of freaky stuff. Aint enough. Like others I've noticed that with aggot in hand up the field he is deadly with his inside 50 disposal. More please. And if he's playing injured, how come and what is it? Maybe his knee issues are such that there are just things he can no longer do? Are we nursing him through games? Yep, this is what happens when we don't know... speculation sets in.
The manner in which Daicos senior carried on after the goal lacked a bit of class.
Umpiring was fickled and Harry in particular was held without frees being paid.
Young on Cox was the obvious move given the height factor. I would never have dropped Kemp though.
As I said I can't see Williams being in the team with everyone fit, it's hard to carry him as just an offensive player.
re: Williams......a nervous player when played down back and and when you add Young plus two inexperienced defenders in Cowan and Cincotta it puts a lot of pressure on Weitering to be the glue thats holds the backline together.
I think Williams has to play on the weakest small forward and never on the last line close to goal and my preference if he has to play is on the wing where he use his skillset to carry the ball and deliver and be removed from having to mind a man.
I cant see him in the team when we have our full crew back and ditto for Fantasia and Durdin.
Please footy gods. Don't let this be another -1pt heartbreaker
Hogan gets off. Greene does not.
According to coach Kingsley" its hard being Toby"...sometimes I agree he doesnt get calls go his way due to his previous reputation but he was undisciplined tonight and the incident with Boyd showed he had little duty of care imho and there was another I'm sure I saw with Kemp I think it was where he took a swing at him while contesting the ball falling to the ground.I too was impressed by Young’s physicality
Good to see both Cowan and Newman looking after Boyd too and letting Toby know he wasnt going to get away with his BS....
Hogan struck Young in the jaw as well and that should be looked at too.....credit to Young when Weitering got his corkie and couldnt run it was Young who got the job on Hogan and shut him down and showed some physicality which has been lacking in his game...
Too kind LN, compared to coaches and experts I'm a dumb ass, but I would have planned and would have put in a truckload of work into ensuring Keays and Walker had minimal impact.
Watching the replay, gee we dropped a lot of marks. And we had our chances to to either hold onto to the 16 pt lead or seal it when they came back. Owies stubs a toe, Charlie drops a marks, Zac W dropped spilled the ball which resulted in Mudguts (dead set Fogarty is fatter than me) picking it up and drilling a pass to the top of the square, Adelaide goal.
As Vossy said, we have got a lot right in the dyeing minutes if the first 4 weeks, we farked up the last few minutes this week. C'est la vie.
This week's line-up:
Backs: Brodie Kemp Jacob Weitering Nic Newman
Half-backs: Adam Saad Mitch McGovern Adam Saad
Centreline: Ollie Hollands Patrick Cripps Blake Acres
Half-forwards: Elijah Hollands Harry McKay Matthew Kennedy
Forwards: Orazio Fantasia Charlie Curnow Matthew Owies
Followers: Tom De Koning Adam Cerra George Hewett
Interchange: Jordan Boyd Jack Carroll Matthew Cottrell Corey Durdin Sam Walsh
Emergencies: Jaxon Binns Lachlan Cowan Marc Pittonet
I would have played Pittonet: he has a good record against O'Brien; TdK doesn't.
Ollie Hollands is pretty lucky. He hasn't been playing that well, even though he has contributed. Last week Sharpe killed him.
Fantasia is also more than a little lucky. He did OK as sub, but otherwise hasn't done much. Corey Durdin as well, but he had 8 tackles last week.
Walsh on the bench: is hat trying to tell us that he'll be a late out?
No Cincotta as sub? Amazing! He was much better than both Binns and Cowan against North.
