Not a bad start.
De Konig got a touch or two.
Paddy played well.
Simpson some good things plus a goal.
Is our captain playing?

Not a bad start but midfield looks undermanned.

We won’t win without Murphy having an input. Must get his hands on the ball.

One thing we're doing today that we've barely done all year - celebrate goals when we kick them.

Still managing to guard grass instead of players in the back 50 though.

I'm no fan of Andy Maher, but it's oddly comforting hearing him and Rob Walls calling the game on AFL Nation.

Reasonable half of footy. Could have been better, but some great glimpses of the future.
We already look tired though

Polson got the stats people working overtime again?
At half time Polson has more touches than Silvagni, Wright, Lang and SPS.
He has as many as Charlie and Lobbe.

Yes its only 5, but why do people continue to single him out?
He's played less games than all of the above.

Suggested it a couple of weeks ago, but it is confirmed today.
Levi is not a part of our future.

Charlie passed him a long time ago.
Harry has confirmed that he has passed him too.
even TDK has offered us as much in his first game.

Levi should be on the trade table if he is not already,

Much better qtr for him.

He got all is 5 touches in that qtr so he's getting into the game.

Levi would know it too. He's certainly playing good footy in the VFL, some of his best for a while, but he must know he about 4th in line, and that's not counting the ruckman that are out too. He might better looking to get a year or two elsewhere I'd he can at his age. Glad he got to 100 games though.

At the moment we are locking them down taking away the best asset of quick run. Maybe not suiting the strengths of some but, yes, input from the likes of Murphy would help alot more.

Its worth pointing out that right now both Dow and Polson have a total of 8 possessions each.
Only 1 will cop criticism though.

Wallace has been slagging Dow off as a lazy one way runner.   He hasn't been shy slagging off our blokes.

Weitering and Marchbank look 10000 percent better when Jones is absent.

If only we knew how to move the ball and set up our forwards. Alot of ability out there and playing good competitive footy but no idea on that aspect. We'd really crap on them if we had any idea there.

No sorry this is wrong.  Don’t just look at the stats sheet in one game.

One is a promising youngster that has shown plenty in his first year and 17 other teams would take him in a heart beat.

The other is in his second year has been gifted games because of injury and couldn’t be given away draft wise. I have nothing personal against him but have to call it as I see it.

No point sugar coated it.

Polson's issue over the weeks is reading the play so he can get to contests. When her gets to contests he does well. Hopefully it's a part of learning at this level. Certainly alit better after qtr time.

The hard ball get on the flank and handball to Murphy who set up a shot on goal inside 50.

FWIW, Polson has a better DE too.

I'm not saying he is even half as good as Dow. I'm just saying lay off the kid as there are worse out there than him....including previous games.

I showed previously that Polson is hitting the stat sheet more than Simpson did at the same stage....and Polson is younger.

Take home point....give him time.

3 friggen years and no system. This was a game that could well have been one if we had once once of it. There's ability out there,, there's some good forwards there, just no ability to get it to them and set up. Other sides find ways of opening sides up going forward. Not us though.

Loved.the competitiveness and that's made it more frustrating. We.at the point of wanting more than that now.

Said it in other threads.....we have to target midfielders who can kick the ball. Curnow & McKay have got no chance with the delivery they get. On a brighter note, would this be O'Brien's best game?

Why is Polson copping crap for? He has played 10 games and he has a dip.

Murphy has played 200+, is captain of the club, on 700k and is soft as they come.

If we're judging players future based on a comparison to Simpsons stats in his  early days Jordan Russell, Kane Lucas and Marcus Davies would be expected to be Brownlow medallists.

I have a really basic gripe.
Many times whoever is on the mark starts to mark that mark by looking at and scratching the ground or they turn away from the kicker to give instructions to team-mates only to have the kicker run around them while they are not looking.  It cost us 2 goals today and at least that every other game.

Even worse is when there's an opposition mark in their 50 which is a tough shot, and we just stand around while they chip it to a team mate in a better spot.
