AFLW Rd 2 2021 Carlton vs Western Bulldogs Friday at Whitten Oval

Forecast is for considerable rain on Friday. Interesting to see how we handle that down at the Kennel.

Bring your floaties!

Teams in.
IN: Jess Edwards
OUT: Mua Laloifi (conc)

That makes our team worse overall specifically our backline.

However, Edwards will increase our running power which is required.
Still prefer Walker, Pound and McEvoy back though.

Game time.

Hopefully we can correct our first half start from last week.

Not to get too carried away with this AFLW stuff, but the game plan is crape. Just playing like Auskick kids. Everyone follow the ball around and just kick it. Not sure how we could've been pre-season favourites? Defies belief.

We are missing at least 4 of our starters. Thats how.

Pound, McEvoy, Walker, Laloifi all unavailable due to injury/concussion.

All better users of the ball than most out there.

Girls showing good fight and grinding it out.

Pressure pressure pressure.

As long as we don't let the dogs get the quick kick over the top, we are all over them.

Or let them get that in the first minute of the last  ::)

Gee misses what she should've kicked.

Gee should've take a shot.

Harris is head and shoulders above everyone else in the air....

....but can not kick the ones we need!!!!

Great effort by the girls but oh so frustrating.

Another 6 point defeat despite having the ball in our forward half for 90% of the last quarter. The dogs quick ones early in the last did the damage.

We need to get some players back.
Laloifi should be back next week.
Not sure how long Pound and Walker are out, but McEvoy is weeks away.

Couldn't hit a target to save themselves tonight. Fix the composure around the ground and in front of goal and we would have won by plenty. The Harris miss from the top of the square was unforgivable.

Two bursts of 3 easy quick goals. That was their 6 goals. Same issues as the men last year with those run on of goals. Last week we gave Collingwood 4 unpressured goals in a short time. That issue is going through the place. Means we are 0-2 rather than 2-0.

I'd like to see Edwards' efficiency. Cannot hit a target by hand or foot, and shouldn't be playing in defence because her turnovers hurt.
