Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 20 2024 Pre Game Prognostications Carlton vs Port Adelaide
It looks like Carroll will be the Sub,which is logical if you want to give Cuningham a bit of game time. Not sure Walsh will play. He looked pretty banged up last week. May bring Binns into squad and allow Carroll to play. I think Carroll is a better kick than Walsh and turns the other way to the rest of our midfield. He does give us a point of difference. It would be good to give Binns a go.

Interesting because Rozee looked as 'banged up' as Walsh at the end of their match! I would not be surprised if he was a late withdrawal after a relatively short break for them....and an interstate road trip.

Bigheads strike again !!

Pittonet - utter dud, get rid of him
Marchbank - never liked him and a huge liability, boot him out
Boyd - disposal was appalling and got found out tonite for being way too loose
Williams - before getting injured, shirked it
Curnow - massively over-rated & unreliable
Cottrell - exposed at senior level

We have too many lemons and not enough 'tough as nails' types who dig in hard when it gets tough.

Dogs wanted that win from the first bounce & played like their season depended on it, once again our guys just went though the motions in the belief it was going to magically happen.

And as for some of the undisciplined free kicks we gave away .............. spare me !!

Herés a novel thought, how about some of our defenders try to punch & spoil ?? Two or three times our idiots tried to outmark them instead of opting for the smarter play, we are just too dumb at times.

When things are going our way we look great but when the opposition apply a lot of pressure we wilt. It happened last week and it happened again tonight, the opposition clubs have now worked us out.

Why does he always come with both barrells when we get beaten but never praises us after a good win??😕

We have 6 or so weeks to go plus finals. Cripps, Walsh and Kennedy are all performing, Cerra is coming back from a long layoff. The odds are that within that timeframe, one of the above will get an injury or will need a rest. Enter George Hewett. He will get his chance and I'm sure he'll take it with both hands. I feel that we are definitely in 'list management mode' heading to September, a new experience for all. A fresh, motivated George Hewett could do a lot of damage when it counts!

Not for this week, but I think Matt Cottrell will be eyeing off a spot to grab when he returns in a few weeks and that is playing on the opposite wing to Acres. Big bodies, crash and bash finals football is more Cottrell's go than Ollie H and I just think Ollie too easily brushed aside and out muscled. The other positive is that, like Holland, Cottrell can run all day.
