Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Post Game Prognostications
Managed to stay awake to half time, they hit the lead and Mr Sandman visited. Internet at the hotel was no good,  but was excited when we went from 3 goals to 5 in the first quarter in no time.  Seemed like we came out hard and Lions didn't,  but they settled towards the end of the first.  Brisbane were back in the second,  started playing their game and we didn't help ourselves but endeavour was there.

Commentators were saying how load our supporters were - well done,  Thry.

As for the second half,  no idea,  but the score suggests we didn't give up.  I was pleasantly surprised that we were less than 3 goals from the grannie.

It took half a season to get going,  but what a ride when they did.  Expectation from all will be high next season.  It will be awesome if they deliver.

Walsh's spoil in the last quarter deep in defence was amazing.  Longer vision shows how much ground he covered to get there.  Sydney player wouldn't have thought he was under pressure.

We did a lot right - we got to five goal leads twice.  It seems as if we got nervous/careful in the last but were also tiring.

Had Harry kicked his second attempt, ball goes back to the middle, we are brimming with confidence - but Sydney are a team that never stops, so who knows - not sure it would have been a whole lot different or not, no one does, it all becomes speculation.

There is a really strong team vibe about this group now, which is great.

Bring on Melbourne.

Far too much +ve Carlton press this week for my liking!  Thankfully Maynard will take some of the attention away.  Sydney have been ignored, but quietly been in some reasonable form as well.

Don't think it will be a good night for footy - hopefully we can play ugly better than Sydney.  Whatever it is, it won't be a easy game.

Dow as sub for me - he has shown he can and will contribute and is a good option to go into the midfield if others need to be moved around (as has been mentioned)

Bad luck on the weather WASurfer, but hopefully you enjoy your time here.

Maths says Thry is right - 275.272=1,922 points for the season as per the ladder

This is 106 more points than last season but we played one more game

Pity we didn't score a couple more points last season.

Who cares - it doesn't matter what we score as long it is more than the opposition and isn't Ross Lyon brand footy.
