Funnily (?) enough, I have found the older (45+) more likely to sledge and carry on like idiots, not realising they are now playing the lowest 2 day grade in the comp.
The only fight I have ever seen at cricket was between the opposition team, where one player threw a stump at his team mate and then chased him around with another. There have been several that I have heard of (including one where the whole offending club was kicked out of the comp)
Funniest things that I have seen playing cricket include (excluding in-house stories) - a group of medieval fighters all dressed up doing their thing. It stopped our game for about 15 minutes as we all watched - a guy riding a trail bike, not realising it was on fire until we were all shouting at him. He got off pretty quick and proved he was a good sprinter - didn't come back for the bike. - fire brigade coming to put out a fire about 10 metres from the fine leg boundary, and only way to access was across the oval. Fine leg fielder decided that they only needed to save the single rather than be on the boundary
Lists like this are for the chattering masses. My only problem is when did the modern era start? Footy has changed significantly since 1975 - I wouldn't consider that the modern era (I was 4 at the time!), particularly as it wasn't fully professional.
If we moved the modern era to the 21st century, getting 5 best wins (with significance) could be difficult...
Del Potro could have been anything, particularly after his US Open win some time ago. Injury has absolutely cruelled his career. A much more interesting player to watch than Djokovic or Nadal (champs that they are).
I love watching the Fed play. Just has a grace around the court that so many don't.
Congrats on getting in when the going was as it was intended. I currently have cable and get about 35mbs 24/7. Our NBN connection will be through HFC, which has already been stuffed up, so we are no longer NBN ready.
The other HFC joke is that current plans show a slower (and not guaranteed) speed for what we are paying now or even a bit more. I will be changing over at the last possible second.
Ever since it was changed from fttp to fttn it has and will continue to be a joke, farce and detriment to our country.
% is going to swing wildly in AFLW. Generally lower scores, so even slightly larger win/loss will have a big effect. If a team wins 20-10, they have a % of 200. The next week they lose 10-25, it goes to 86%, even though there is only a 5 point differential overall. When there is a smashing like we got, of course the % is going to reflect that.
I reckon there are some absolute crackers and the good ones remind me of ye olde footy photos (and some duds - could have been a bit more selective). - Daisy looking rugged - photo 28 - Cripps is strange (photo 23), but great - it looks as if his face has been painted - Garlett (photo 40) looks as if there are plenty of stories to tell (beyond his years) - Weits straight out of the 1920s (photo 48) - Bolts - photo 68/70 are shockers, but 64/66/71 show who's in charge
Agree. If the game can't entertain and keep you occupied, don't go. Half time is 20 mins? I suppose if it means the speakers aren't been blown into our ears with totally banal stuff, it may be an improvement - what happens to the Auskickers?
The marketing of the tennis this year was about anything but the tennis - food, covets, activities. If you can't even advertise your product something is wrong
Batting White @7 is like asking Hazelwood to open the batting. Not what he does. Not Whites fault he got selected and played in the wrong place. Stoinis and Marsh in the one side takes away balance.
I don't think Sam is a "natural" tennis player - there are too many times where she plays what she has learnt as opposed to what the opponent or conditions warrant. Add an obvious mental frailty and it just doesn't work for her.
She has been amazing in all the press conferences over the years, never losing her cool, calm, polite, friendly.
