(from someone who hasn't seen the game) I am surprised more hasn't been said about this.... he shut out DaNGERFIELld for three quarters until he went off. The D man was only a factor after Mick had putters the shutters down in the 4th?..... unlike what the carp in the press says?
I tend to think that Dangerfield was being a bit 'lazy' sitting up in the forward line and only went into overdrive when he went into the middle in the last quarter. Not sure Yazz would have kept up with him in the final quarter in the square......but you can only do the job you're asked to do!!
Bootsma can sit next to me....no idea Bell needs to be very careful of Cripps sneaking up on him. Rowe offers nothing. Casbolt offers slightly more than Rowe, but only JUST slightly. Waite hasn't had a kick in the 2 weeks so far. Krueser's first week back. Benefit of the doubt. (Was awful!) Cachia, Curnow, Everitt were non events.
Thomas will be a class act.
Will Henderson, Walker, Judd, Warnock, Carrazzo and Tuoy make that much difference??? Probably not.
Graham Smith says it was the pitch and not Mitch Johnson that lost them the game...now I might be biased being an Aussie but thats the biggest load of crape from Smith who needs to have a good long look at himself and admit his No 1 team were outplayed and well beat by a better Australian team and his personal contribution wasnt good enough as well as his poor decision to bowl first.
I guess the ball will be the problem in the next test...we got the shiny hard ball and they will have been issued with the dull, soft one.....
Obviously Australia batted on 'the other pitch'! Tosser.
Bootsma, while still on the slight side, has definitely put on a bit of meat around the upper body, looked good for it.
Does your TV have one of those 'whacky mirror' screens, 'cos he looked absolutely no different physically, except for some new inkwork on his right forearm....possibly to try to make himself look tougher....I'm trying hard to say that with a straight face.....
I said the same thing 2 weeks ago and you nearly had a stroke!
I think Carrots, Waite, Judd, McLean and Scotland are all under the pump in 2014. It won't take much improvement from the kids combined with just a little slip from the older blokes for the old blokes to be well and truly under the pump!
In that group there is a 33 yo, a 31 yo, a couple of 30 yo and a 27 year old McLean has never looked fitter, probably has never been fitter and is at prime age.
We all love watching our kids play sports and encourage them to do their best.
When they do better than the time before, great! Personal best is something within everyone's reach if they put their mind to it. That 10k run, half marathon, the round of golf etc etc etc.
However when we are talking about 'elite' sports people who represent their country and put themselves up on the world stage, should we get excited that Lindy the Triple Looper came 23rd and posted a PB or Jason Backhander who made the 3rd round at the US Open, his best ever result.
On the world stage, is it only titles and Gold, Silver and Bronze that mean anything??
