@RR Interesting report RR, many thanks. Especially encouraged to read about O'Keefe who I'd pretty much discounted as gorn. Maybe he will turn it around and do a Brock McLean??
I've been critical of Ed in the past, mainly b/c of his disposal. I too am rapidly becoming a fan! I've paid attention to him in the last 2-3 games and he is doing a great job of running with a man and his own efforts at getting the ball and disposing of it have definitely improved significantly. Atm he's definitely a keeper.
@GTC Agree, MM is shaking the complacency out of this group and saying that if they want a game in the navy blue they have to be good enough and demonstrate 100% commitment - no matter who you are. Nothing wrong with that.
@Dave Agree, "intimidating" is not a word that springs to mind with our blokes, apart from maybe Robbo when he's fired up. I think there was some sort of conscious effort v. the Saints to change that but it sure don't come naturally.
Hopefully MM can inject more of this quality into the team, both with existing players and via the trade table.
Watson certainly has to stake his claim today to his spot in the team. With a good performance he could begin to convince the powers that be that he is one serious solution to our key defender needs. Convincing people on here will be a lot harder for him of course. Go Watto!
I'm just hoping that Laidler is being kept in reserve for later this year or maybe on the back burner for next year. I'd be amazed if MM has passed judgement and stamped his papers already.
Yes I think MM will have the boys very focussed on just getting a win, even if it's only by a couple of goals. I'm expecting us to be very tight and measured and hopefully maintaining this for 4Qs.
