Robert Heatley Stand / Re: 2018 VFL Rd 11: Carlton vs Richmond

We were closer last season, but from public comments this season it seems was all part of the plan! Why didn't they just tell me that up front?

Also, what is the media rallying against, and why? Are they trying to bully the AFL and Carlton in a certain direction, will Carlton blink?

What are you trying to say now ?

Did you really think that Doc missing every game of 2018, Rowe coming back from a knee and Gibbs being traded for draft picks was going to make us a better team in 2018 v 2017 ? ????????????????????????

Ok, it’s as I suspected, it’s a moving ranking for every game possible... Rioli has played 4 games for 39 disposals, but those disposals and thus rankings are spread over 12 matches, how many games has Murphy played this year ?
Obviously a better ranking is per match played.

Edit: Murphy 4 games 2018 and 104 disposals

We have no idea of the cause of this recent injury, it could easily have been a clip from some opponents boot in traffic or congestion and is unrelated to his medical history!

It's easy to blame the medicos, but the bigger question is ignoring one game on Franklin should he have even been picked up by our club?

Neither Thry or myself are blaming the medicos, however multiple players have played this year when clearly hampered by injury, and several have come back after a break and had a reoccurrence of the same injury.
Clearly this needs to be investigated.

As for ASOS, he has played well when on the park, held opponents, supported teammates and supposedly mentors well, it’s a pity for the injuries.

I don’t know if he was brought back too early, I also don’t know if Kruizer was played when injured, Kennedy, Murphy... etc.
Maybe our desperate situation “required” those risks, maybe it was inept of us, I don’t know, but it should be looked at come end of season.

What I saw of the first qtr, our game plan is:
- Turn it over at every opportunity
- Give away stupid free kicks
- Miss goals dead in front
- Put your team mates under as much pressure as possible
- Hand ball or kick to team mates below their knees
Repeat the above over and over again.

kick over their heads too.
It was like they thought we were wearing our clash jumper today, white jumpers pinpointed all day, by hand and foot...
The first 10-15 mins of the 3/4 we hit teammates with the ball and were much cleaner, then we started fumbling and turning it over again ????

I do not get the "equality" part of the pro-Mouncey arguments, because it may be "gender equality" but it's clearly not "physical equality"!

You could argue allowing Hanna Mouncey to play against smaller lightweight opponents is almost anathema to equality!

As a friend of mine half-joked at the weekend, one good thing to come out of this situation. Any girl playing AFLW that survives a physical collision/confrontation with Mouncey has a very good case to argue for her permission to nominate for the AFL!

I hope SOS is watching, because a good chunk of our AFL list probably wouldn't survive a collision with Mouncey all that well!

Thank you for allaying my fears about your prejudices, so what you are saying is if Hannah weighed 50kg you would be her biggest fanboi.
I think DJC made mention of someone the size of our young 25 meeting Sandilands head on...
obviously no problem to you ????????

A question, we are on the bottom of the ladder, with little to gain from playing injured players.

Yet we sent Cripps out there not fully fit!

WTF is our club thinking, it says it plans and is implementing long term strategies yet that is clearly a short term decision! No wonder our fans are confused and disgruntled!

Sames goes for Kreuzer, I watched him last night and he clearly isn't fully fit but he's a warrior.

Anyway, they have a couple of weeks off now, so they have time to get sorted, but they could also have had three weeks off and hit the last part of the season in fine fettle!

A possible answer to your question... no Cripps and Kreuzer = 100pt flogging on Friday night TV.
Both of these guys @ 50% fitness are equal to their replacements @100% fitness, but these two can perform magic whilst their replacements can do card tricks...
Every player on the field will have an injury or niggle that prevents them from being 100%

A couple of weeks back I thought I'd checked the broadcast guide and our game tomorrow was live to air, now Ch.7 are broadcast GWS vs CheatsFC.

I was up the bush at the time, maybe the broadcast schedule is different up there?

The afl broadcast schedule offers:
Vic- Geelong, Giants v Scum 7, 7pm,
Vic-Melbourne, Giants v Scum 7, 7pm,
Vic-Regional, Giants v Scum Prime7, 7pm,
Vic-Remote, Giants v Scum Southern Cross, 7pm.

Looks like the same game as everyone else gets, seems like it’s only the network and local time that changes...

NT Darwin, Giants v Scum Southern Cross, 6:30,
NT Remote and Regional, Giants v Scum, Southern Cross, 6:30
WA Perth, Giants v Scum, 7, 5pm,
WA Regional, Giants v Scum, 7mate, 5:20pm.
