Voting hasn't been a high priority for people of late. Our performances made it difficult. However, with a solid win behind us, I hope we can turn out this week as well and have a lot of players deserving of votes.

I find it hard to judge this game as less than our previous one, so I am obliged by rewarding it with a B+. Apart from a patch in the 3rd quarter, they guys were good and defeated a team more highly rated than us. I was particularly impressed by the final quarter effort. That was superior football in the circumstances.
Votes:
This is one of those games when the number of votes simply doesn’t represent what the players deserve. It was a great team performance, not just a dominant display from a few. Even the few I have not mentioned did something worthwhile. Doubling all of these values might get close to displaying the true worth of the performances.

Explanations:
[2] Sam Walsh: Walsh was reasonably well held for three quarters, but when it mattered most, he led the way. Every one of his possessions was like a knife in the gizzards of our foe.
[1.5] Jacob Weitering: A brilliant performance in the circumstances. He dominated the Freo tall forwards almost all night.
[1.5] Liam Jones: Like Weitering, Jones dominated his position and outplayed his opponents so much that they had to try to keep him out of the game.
[1.5] Paddy Dow: Paddy’s first quarter was nothing short of brilliant. His best by some margin. He was decent for the rest of the night, but not as dominant as he was early.
[1.5] Jack Silvagni: This was probably Jack’s most complete game for us. He had close to his best numbers, he took some positively excellent marks, and his goal kicking was much improved. He was probably the most effective forward on the ground.
[1] Patrick Cripps: For a guy who was struggling with injury for much of the game, Crippa was very good.
[1] Nick Newman: A top game keeping the Freo small forwards out of the game while providing drive.
[1] Matthew Kennedy: During the second and third quarters Kennedy did something we were struggling to do: he got clearances. Not just any clearances, but ones that led to our goals. It wasn’t pretty, but it wasn’t something Freo could counter.
[1] Adam Saad: Like Newman and Stocker, Saad provided a lot more value than his opponents. His disposal was a highlight.
[1] Liam Stocker: Continuing to make an impression, Stocker was excellent in defence and providing drive.
[1] Ed Curnow: Ed had a couple of jobs during the night, depending on which of the Freo mids was being most dangerous. He did then well, especially late in the game where we broke the dominance they got in the midfield.
[0.5] Eddie Betts: Eddie was Eddie. Where he was, things happened.
[0.5] Matthew Owies: Far more effective than the Freo small forwards, Owies showed some great qualities and deserved to be noticed.
Honourable Mentions:
Lachie Plowman: Not a lot of ball himself, but his defensive work was excellent, and his opponents were generally ineffective.
Harry McKay: Didn’t have a great night, but still managed three goals and could have got more if frees had been paid. However, H has to work on not giving away frees himself.
Sam Petrevsko-Seton: Patchy, but better than he was in defence this year. Not many mistakes. A positive contribution, especially when it mattered.
Tom de Koning: Dominant in the first quarter, Tom struggled somewhat against one of the games most improved rucks. He worked himself into the ground.
Levi Casboult: Levi was poor early, especially in the ruck. He dropped marks and turned the ball over. But when it really mattered, he lifted his game hugely and took control in the last quarter.
