What's your favourite?

He may look a bit strange, and may not be well known, but he was one of the most influential and multi-talented UK musicians of the late sixties and early seventies. a member of the Move (Flowers in the rain,Blackberry Way, Fire Brigade), a co-founder of ELO and a huge influence on the Glitter/Glam music of the seventies....Roy Wood/Wizzard

I know I had never heard that song Lodsie till I lived in the UK...  popular bands doing Christmas songs is their thing.

My favourite is Fairytale of New York, closely followed by How to make the Gravey.

I have a Christmas playlist of very variable quality.  Some of my favourites, in no particular order, are:

Frosty The Snowman - The Ventures
We Three Kings Of Orient Are - The Beach Boys
Mary Had A Baby - Bruce Cockburn
On A Christmas Day - CW Stoneking
Home On Christmas Day - Cyndi Lauper
Away in a Manger - Dwight Yoakam
Apocalypso - Mental as Anything
Christmas Number 1 - Lindsay McDougall et al

And then there's Kevin Bloody Wilson's "Hey Santa Clause"  :)

There a number of Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra and Bing Crosby songs that I would chuck in if I could find half decent versions.

And how could we leave out "Give her one for Christmas" by Sir Les Paterson?

Yep
Another glam rock group who were around the same time as Wizzard were Slade. Their best selling song was "Merry Christmas Everybody".
It's been re-released and covered ever since the 70's and was voted UK's most popular Christmas song in 2007.

Here's an Old Oz Ol'55 song..
