Blah-Blah Bar / Re: The Voice
I found the whole "silence for a week thing" extremely childish given how much work there is to do, poor leadership IMO. Imagine
I get it. They have put in years of hard work of trying to get a solution, one presents and it is not accepted by the public. This is a big knock back for them. They need some time to digest, process and think about 'what next'.
They could have presented it in a better way than they did.

This may be due to the Feds palming off some of the outcomes of closing the gap to the States.
I believe all States are heading down the treaty path - some further down the track than others - don't think there are any in place.
I don't really know what treaty is and tbh can't be bothered finding out.

The indigenous unity didn't exist during the campaign - where did it go or was the Uluru statement not representative?
From this base, it was easy for the no campaign. Hard for the yes, particularly as they needed to be very precise and articulate about what the voice is and the benefits of it and weren't that at all.
As bipartisan support was really required for success, it was probably doomed early on.
Be interesting to see what action will now be taken to help close the gap - which the latest report shows a few outcomes improving, a few going backwards, a number without measurement (higher education/ employment) and some neutral. A number are not on track to meet goals by 2030.
I wait with bated breath.

That was putrid.

Yep
It wasn't really meant as a 'one's better than the other, both are tremendous power singers...and it's a personal preference.
It was more about the technology.
I know Lods, but couldn't help myself, sorry! But it's pretty cool to hear the clear diction and both were note perfect. (as well as the rest of the Queen and their harmonies).
What will be scary is when scammers hack your phone, get a recording of your voice voice, send a text/message showing your number, but using a different one, use your voice, ask for money from a rellie and then it gets sent to a 'wrong' account.
Three top international crimes are:
Weapons
People Trafficking
Drugs
Surely scamming/cyber crime has to be number 4 with a bullet.

Not songs that we should attempt at Karaoke.

Do this with Steve Perry singing Queen's Don't Stop Me now then see what the result is.
It is hard to compare as they will generally sing songs that sit in their 'pocket' that bring the best out of their tone and range.
Steve Perry has a higher voice than Freddie, so Don't Stop Believing may suit Perry more.
Who's the best? Doesn't really matter. It's whatever floats your boat.
I have seen a clip of We Are The Champions with the vocals isolated - it's pretty cool and hard to fault.

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL 2023 Preliminary Final Carlton vs Brisbane Post Game Prognostications
Commentators were saying how load our supporters were - well done, Thry.
As for the second half, no idea, but the score suggests we didn't give up. I was pleasantly surprised that we were less than 3 goals from the grannie.
It took half a season to get going, but what a ride when they did. Expectation from all will be high next season. It will be awesome if they deliver.

If we bring the intensity of our winning steak, we may do enough damage to win. GO BLUES
