On fire early. Gibbs and Judd with some classy midfield work. Gibbs goal from outside 50m was sublime. Jones looking very dangerous.

Jaksch looks all at sea, beaten twice easily by Griffiths, has to tighten up on him.

They will get better but we have the personnel.

Losing Daisy so early is a blow as Smith (should have been Armfield) will not be able to run out the game - Tiggers will know that. So early advantage will be important.

Menzel gets rid of the Shintaro hairstyle at 1/4 time, then lays a good tackle on Chaplin and kicks a goal - see, those hipster haircuts are just no good !!

If this is a sample of what we are going to belike this season, then finishing 10th will be a good effort.

lots of room for improvement, but top of the list must be decision making - picking the wrong man to pass to time and time again.

Unable to play 120 mins
Unable to sustain pressure
Unable to have any fwd structure
Unable to assert any form of physical pressure on the opposition (we have too many players who avoid physical contact)
Unable to build on a mini lead
Just Unable.

Similar team as last year, similar attack on the game coupled with similar skill errors.

Its not over just yet but do we need to lift in most areas after half-time because we certainly put the cue in the rack just then.

Spot on, and Judd beaten twice by a first gamer. Gave Richmond a sniff and they took it. We went to water as far as our pressure went. Weak effort.

Our work when not in posession is deplorable, if it exists at all. We are going to have to work a lot harder in the 2nd half. Too many easy possessions for the tigers.

Loose, disorganised, weak tackling.... Same rubbish from same blokes.  Very poor quarter from Jaksch, really weak from Murphy... Too many one way runners and getting flogged across half forward by turnovers.  Maric having a party.   Bottom four on that half.  No small forwards... No positives of any kind.

The proof of the pudding is in the eating...

Tonight we got to see how far we are behind the rest. Yes, we started brilliantly, cheap early points, then customarily, folded - on-field leadership, courage, still wanting.

Here we go again, lazy, sloppy, falling asleep for 20 minutes crap.

Rowe in the leadership group. When I heard that, I thought that the hierarchy at Carlton were on pep-tides. I said it last year and I'll say it again. to come back from testicular cancer like he has, is amazing, but the bloke is not up to AFL level, let alone belongs in a leadership group.

Murphy should hang his head in shame for his non-tackle, Gibbs disappeared, Bell, not doing enough. They said Jones had ironed out his marking, no he hasn't. Dropped at least 5 that I have counted. Don't care that Waite has gone,, but just making the point that Waite would have marked them.

Everrit has been quieter than my dead mother-in law, Hendo the same. Jaks giving away too many frees, and so it goes.

We are a man down, so it would be a phenomenal effort to get up from here.

Wood tries his guts out but as he tired the tigers killed us at clearances.  Jones leaves us a man short when the ball hits the deck.  Our forward set up is shambolic.

Rowe looks lost... Leave him in defence .

We better do way more than just recover. I'll be watching the first half in the next few days to see what has gone wrong. All I heard coming from work was us being 4 goals up, and then 10 mins later, when I got home we managed to be more than a goal behind. We leak 5 unanswered goals. What a joke.

I've got a better suggestion, leave him home. How Rowe has got a game in front of Casboult, is a fking joke.

Oh, I forgot, Rowe is in the leadership group!!. The fact that he's useless doesn't count.

Our field kicking is still deplorable, Yarran the only exception.
Simmo's foot skills are the difference between him being a good average player and a jet, the less said about Bell's kick and hope the better.

When Rowe is up forward you know we're panicking in the coaches' box. And if they're panicking, we should start thinking about next year.

This is incompetent, disgraceful play.

I have always believed that when you are getting done and there are three blokes of the opposition to your one every time you look, then you go back to basic one on one and man up.

By the way, I reckon the umpys are doing a great job.

The trouble is, that we are worse, and for all the pre-season bluff and bluster, this is going to be a hell of a loooong year.

Buckley and boekhorst next week, we need the pace.

Gibbs, Murphy, everritt on notice for sheer pissweakedness.

Too much picking and choosing - across the board.

Casboult must play next week, we need some presence.  Not impressed with Jones.  Drops more marks than a blind bartender.

Henderson to half back, drop jaksch and or Rowe.

Well we've obviously done no work at all on the strength side of things over the off season....which means we must have been working really hard on the aerobic capacity....so we should finish the game strongly. ;)

Hendo is no key forward, he has no presence and any ball unless it is kicked to him when he is by himself  will be taken from him.
Send him back.

He has been very ordinary for someone who everyone had high hopes for.

Aside from everything else, too many passengers tonight.

Yarran, Gibbs, Murphy, Everrit, Jaks, Henderson,  done nothing, and when they do, brainless with their disposal.

I wonder when they show that last passage of play from yarran back to him, how he will explain the kick.

Nthmond look to be running all over us, primarily because we lost this at the selection table. You cannot have Cripps, Bell, Jaksch, Curnow, Hendo and Gibbs in the one side, too many low speed players.

Bell - A certified waste of time, too slow moving, too slow thinking, picks and chooses when to go way too often.

Carrazzo - Love his endeavour and effort, but his career looks over before half time.

Judd - Looking tired already, like tonight is one game too many!

Murphy - Not playing the type of football needed from a Captain.

Please, Carrots, Rowe is useless!!, I have said it on this forum for the last three years, and everyone needs to understand, that you fluke winning matches when blokes like Rowe are in your team.
Lovely bloke, great story about his return to health, just so far below league standard, it's not funny.

He should NEVER be given a game in any team, let alone this one.

If the club wants to know why they struggle to get members, it's their bullsh1t that surfaces early in the season which gives you the answer!

Best pre-season ever we were told.
Players flying we were told.
Fitter than at any time in the previous three season apparently.

I call bullsh1t, half of our list is not fit plain and simple, and you cannot bullsh1t your way through wins!
