I think my threads of BOG and WOG may have detracted from some of the vote givings in here. I know i rarely vote in both now.

Sorry crash.  :-[

That is OK. It may be that the Jim Park medal may need to go into recess for a while. Or we star winning more games, so more people get to watch whole games.  :) It is entirely up to you, the voting public: I'll keep doing it as long as it is something that is thought to be worthwhile. But if it is not, then so be it.

Carlton fail against Collingwood: Rd 15 Disaster

Once upon a time a 'disaster' was a 'bad star'. A bit of trivia to stimulate the thought processes....

Thanks to everyone who voted this week. After all, it was not a fun time on Sunday night. Yet, we managed to take it up to a mob who have finals' pretentions. I think we have shown that they really are pretenders, but where does that leave us?

Votes:
Judd, Chris 305
Yarran, Chris 297
Gibbs, Bryce 193
Robinson, Mitch 134
Rowe, Sam 104
Murphy, Marc 22
Jamison, Michael 19
Simpson, Kade 15
Everitt, Andrejs 11
Curnow, Edward 7
Warnock, Robert 7

A very small spread of votes, with Judd and Yarran clearly the preferred options, followed by Gibbs, Robbo and Rowe. After that was just making up the numbers. Very rarely have the votes followed such a distinct pattern.
It also begs the question about where we are without Judd. He has been back for 3 weeks and is obviously not even close to match fit, yet he has been right up there each time. I think that, more than anything else, makes Malthouse's point for him: we need more talent.

Progressives:
2341 - Gibbs, Bryce (0)
2224 - Murphy, Marc (0)
1595 - Simpson, Kade (0)

Murphy and Gibbs still lead the way, although Gibbs has finally overtaken the Captain. Basically there is a large gap behind these guys to Simpson and Yarran (great to see Yazz up there!), followed by the peloton. The numbers also clearly show the relative falls of guys like Mclean and Walker, and the huge drops of Waite and Garlett. We really need some guys to stand up and provide that X factor required to get over the line.

Carlton fall to Sydney: A nightmare if there ever was one.
However, we did get 13 voters this week, which is an improvement considering our poor performance. Perhaps the next set of results will be more pleasant.

Votes:
Dominated by Gibbs and Murphy. Not surprising considering how they played and what we produced in the 3rd term.

Carlton loose to Fremantle in Perth: So near and yet so far!

We had 15 voters this week, with a generally positive feel, even though we lost. Hopefully we can turn it around next time and show that we can win close ones.

Votes:
Judd, Chris 393
Simpson, Kade 341
Murphy, Marc 212
Thomas, Dale 109
Waite, Jarrad 73
Yarran, Chris 54
Gibbs, Bryce 45
Curnow, Edward 39
Carrazzo, Andrew 33
Docherty, Sam 27
White, Simon 18
Wood, Cameron 12
Rowe, Sam 3

Not the largest spread of votes that we've had, but Judd back on top and showing why he is the champion he is, gave the voting a different look to it.
Cameron Wood was again recognized for his work, even though he was flogged in the ruck taps.

Progressives:
3048 - Gibbs, Bryce (0)

Carlton defeat Gold Coast and expel them from the finals:
With only a couple of round to go, things are heating up in the Jim Park medal voting. More voters and better scores reflect the better efforts of recent times. May they continue.

Rowe, Sam 13
Carrazzo, Andrew 13
White, Simon 5

Judd and Waite brings back memories of past glories with 300+ games. Gussy Sheehan managed to get on the board, while Dale Thomas and Tom Bell produced arguably their best games in our colours.

The Winner: Bryce Gibbs
Gibbs was winner by 800 votes! A big effort with everything that went on for 2014. Hail!

2nd place: Marc Murphy
Couldn't win because he missed the last game again, with injury. Still, a very good effort from the Captain with the promise of more in 2015.

3rd place: Kade Simpson
Not a patch on last year. In fact 2014 contained some of his worst ever games. But Simmo is a trouper and a real leader for our club. His ability to get the ball week in, week out was excellent!

4th place: Chris Judd
Considering that Judd missed half of the season and was not match fit in any single game, his effort were heroic. had the season lasted another month, we would have given Gibbs a real challenge for top spot.

5th place: Chris Yarran
A much more consistent season in 2014. Look forward to more next year.

Congratulations to all those who managed to get votes: it is a more than creditable effort to catch the eye and hold it. Well done.
Hopefully there will be more votes and more voters in 2015!

Worthy winner Gibbs, he had a good and reasonably consistent year, as a midfielder, showing some the reasons why he was a number 1 pick. There is still room for growth, so all the best to him and onward and upward for him in 2015 !!
