Im no fan of Trump and consider him dangerous but I think its Biden who faces the uphill battle, he is also being blamed for the turn of fortunes in the Ukraine conflict with his slow supply of arms/munitions to the Zelensky Govt allowing Putin to resupply and turn the war into a economic contest.

But it wasn't Biden (or rather the folks looking after him) who held up the aid to Ukraine. It was the Republicans, probably at the behest of Trump who held up that aid by tying it to extracting extra concessions on other issues like the border security.

Mav warned about this when the war was in its infancy. If Trump wins you can probably kiss Ukraine goodbye. NATO wouldn't be able to rely on the USA. We'd probably need to worry about the strength of our own alliances. MAGA is an American first, isolationist movement. The security and well being of other countries doesn't really rate.

The Democrats don't get a free pass though.
If Biden's their candidate then Trump's a real chance....and that's on them.
Apart from the issues with economy, the other big issues in this election are border security and American jobs being lost to other countries. These are resonating when you hear American voters asked about the issues thaty concern them.

In the end the contest will boil down to whether the Americans would prefer a president largely controlled by his 'carers' or a president no-one is really capable of controlling.
That would seem an easy choice for us.
Apparently not so for the USA.

Fortunately (as it turned out) missed the game last night. Agree with PaulP, need to just wipe this game and move on.
The next 3 weeks against GC, Port and the Don's suddenly season defining.
The group especially the leaders need to take stock, reset and come out with purpose next week. What happens above the shoulders will be the key. A bit of luck with injuries will help also!

I think the Cats follow this challenge of some difficult competition. 4 games that could go either way. It sucks that we have had so many injuries early in this season. We could easily be in the top 4 if football fortunes were on our side. I hope we don’t lose Cripps, Walsh and Weitering in the period while other players do return. There would almost be no leadership left in the remaining group. I hope the guys can protect them and give them a chop out on the park. I hope we find players to fill their shoes in the future.

There’s a lot more to American voting polls than meets the eye:

https://www.ipsos.com/en-us/latest-us-opinion-polls
From that link:
Most Americans say the economy and inflation are the most important issues determining who they will support for president in November
New ABC News/Ipsos polling finds that President Biden’s approval rating hovers in the mid-to-high 30’s, statistically unchanged from January. The economy and inflation remain the most important issues for Americans when determining who they may support for president in November. More Americans trust Trump over Biden on these issues and feel they were better off financially under Trump than Biden. However, Americans’ views on both of the candidates remain dim, with many feeling both candidates are too old and not trustworthy. Overall, the 2024 election remains a toss-up.

Id still rather be Trump based on those quotes....the war issues and economy wont be getting any better, anytime soon and while Trump is the bigger scumbag I reckon the lack of faith in Biden to fix the economic woes will see him ousted..

Indeed. Moir does some nice things, but not enough. Between 6 to 10 possessions per game.

Binns, on the other hand, must play next week.
The argument will be that the likes of Durdin struggle to get 6-10 possessions a game and dont do much with them.
Durdin had 3 possessions with one effective....saying all that I wouldnt be gifting Moir a game either unless he is knocking down the door. Binns on the other hand has been knocking loud and deserves a run of games imho.

Biden is the world biggest embarrassment of a leader, I'd be ashamed to call him my President. Shouldn't be in charge of a Milk Bar let alone a country.

Yes, but in comparison to Von Schitzenpants, Sleepy Joe is a combination of Haile Selassie, Winston Churchill, JFK, Douglas MacArthur, Queen Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela and Mahatma and Indira Gandhi.

I’m not sure that Von Schitzenpants is experiencing a rise in support.  Even though he’s the only GOP candidate, Von Schitzenpants is still only getting around 70% of the vote in the primaries.  If at least 25% of his own party don’t want to vote for him, it will be an uphill battle.  Then there’s his unpopularity with female voters that’s amplified by the E Jean Carroll case and the Stormy Daniels’ hush money case.

A drowning man will cling onto a serpent is the the old adage.
Economic conditions with high inflation and interest rates have crippled the USA and the amount of homeless have increased by 12% since 2022.
These stats always work against the Government of the day and Biden has been unable to manage the economy and Trump has seen a rise in support from younger folks as well as non white voters
who are struggling with the cost of living.
