Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Post Game Passion: AFL 2019 Rd 18: Carlton vs Gold Coast
An ugly win's better than a pretty loss, and it wasn't the strongest side we can put on the park anyway.
It was almost painful to watch at times, the only thing more painful than the football were the umpires.
I rarely bag umpires but today's was one of the most inept displays I've seen for years, an outrageously soft free paid one minute then a glaring one missed the next, those blokes should be doing Mortlake/Dimboola next week.
Adelaide next week and their season is sputtering along, another chance for Teague to nail down the job.

What a relief.
Cripps willed us over the line but his performance overshadowed some very good ones by other players, even though his was a standout game it was a great team effort overall.
It looks like we made the right call on Bolton, the way we were playing we wouldn't have come from so far back if he was still pulling the reins.
O'Brien might not be a draft bust after all, and given a bit of freedom by Teague Gibbons looked at home at AFL level and could become a long term player.
There's still a long way to go but it's a good start by the new coach.

Sacking Bolton won't necessarily derail the club, McCartney did a lot of the ground work at Footscray but they gave him the bullet for Beveridge and a couple of years later they were holding up the cup.
Bolton was unproven and always a risky appointment, and he's had a fair crack at it, if you could see improvement things might be different.

I really hoped that this would work but it's plain now that it hasn't, we haven't improved one iota this season and have probably regressed.
Players with high skills like Petrevski-Seton are making basic errors under little pressure, our confidence is shot to pieces and the senior coach must take responsibility.
It hasn't worked, Bolton has to go.

No one likes honourable losses but it will turn around, we've finally got a list with a good spread of talent and the wins will come.
The umpires didn't cost us the game, Collingwood just ran the game out better and their experienced players turned the dial up, it only takes one or two touches here and there and one or two tired fumbles our way and the momentum swings.
I was very happy with Cunningham's game today, I've had my doubts about him but I think that he'll become a very good player, he's happy to cop a tackle or two and always looks after his team mates.
On to next week Blues!

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Post Game Passion: AFL 2019 Rd 7: Carlton vs. North Melbourne
Very disappointing, North came to play and knocked us off our game and we never recovered.
It's the worst game we've played for the season but there's no reason why we can't butter up next week, if we fall away from here Bolton is probably done but we should all be hoping that doesn't happen.
It isn't the end of the world is what I'm trying to say.

Bolton is wasting our time playing Ed as a small forward....talking about robbing Peter..... ::) ::) :-[ :-[

Probably, but he's clean out of options.
The one thing we haven't been able to recruit, and we've had a decent crack at it, is a small forward.
It's our Achilles heel, we'll have to address it if we want to mix it with the best.
Apart from that we're tracking OK, it was only inexperience that cost us today's game.
