Robert Heatley Stand / Re: AFL Rd 20 2022 Post Game Postulations Carlton vs Adelaide
Noticeable that the Crows shut down handball chains, clogged the run and carry and straggled the forward like few have this year while getting away with it most times. If it was that obvious to their brains trust, it should be blindingly so to everyone else now. Makes one wonder what the beaten clubs have been thinking. We thought through opponents earlier in the year. Guess part of not turning up includes the critical faculties as well and assume/hope this will happen less as the squad matures further. Also that without all our first-choice midfielders, we are vulnerable. Do we have enough cap space for another hard-nut top-liner who sticks tackles?

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Post Game Analysis: AFL 2021 Rd 10: Carlton vs Hawthorn
On the comment earlier about playing down to the oppo, like we've done so many times, it was almost as if we tried but were too advanced to manage to lose it that way. TT seems to believe it's between the ears and has to wait until the squad works it out coz it can't be forced. May well be the case. But he's a sitting duck til they do coz it's up to them. Gee I wish Cunningham hadn't have gone down. His emerging class and accuracy would have made such a difference on the score board and for confidence at just the right time.

Agree, Need to keep Levi in to make it tough for GC to match our talls, dont want Harry double teamed by Collins/Ballard and we need to give Pittonet decent support not end up with a makeshift ruck for parts of the game.
Perhaps best to give Meat a chop-out from criticism just now. He was barely able to walk after the Richmond game and is under duress clearly since but fronts up every time. How that affects his hands mystifies me but likely a confidence thing. He hurts and bleeds for us. Nuf said.

The Sports Desk / Re: God help me - the Test Cricket thread
Warner is hopeless.   Simply doesn't learn.
His massive f****g ego got him picked.   He ain't fit,  he has zero form and he's only playing becayse HE wanted to.   Time to F him off.   As stated above..... The architect of the cheat and we need to leave him behind.

Harris gave us exactly what I expected.....little.

Errmm, no, he'd do all he could to convince the selectors he could do the job as that's what's expected. To do less puts commitment into question. In Australia, his average is huge (OS not so, and he shouldn't ever have been allowed a passport for Tests after the first few. But that's another issue. This is not his doing, it's recidivist 'brains trust' and admin doing. They picked him when underdone and he's struggled since. (But who are the options after Puc, who looks like another rare accidental Test player?) We don't create openers and previously Warner was the last one to have formed, however artificially. 20-20 and the like have come home to roost. We should all get used to it and stop blaming the victims and sacrificial, if sometimes aggressive, lambs.

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: China
If there was a way to cancel all trade with them effective immediately I would. Then an ambassador has the the cheak to call the tweet art and that our PM overreacted. He'd be on the first plane home on my watch. Do these Kents think we are that dumb (like them)?
Im filthy. Imagine the furore if an Australian diplomat tweeted a pic of  Chinese soldier eating a bat with a covid reference.
If . . .

Difficulty is that we have an equally incompetent and corrupt opposition. Bit like the Poms last election. Putrid choice. That said, it's generally politically healthier to turn governments over. They never learn or renew otherwise. That is unless they're fixated with fighting for the spoils of defeat. Like the Libs. Wish it was otherwise.

Blah-Blah Bar / Re: GM to dump Holden
JFC, car makers? Really? Yankee ones? They taught the Germans everything they should have ignored. As corrupt as oil firms, and there are few of them not up to their armpits in children's blood. Just like the US car firms. Remember, it took Volvo to give the world seat belts. Holden wasn't part of the real horror until GM took it over. Mt Panorma can't hide how revolting 'Detroit' has been.
