Robert Heatley Stand / Re: R6 - Blues vs Eagles (post match party)
Just go home spent a lot time watching 2E a lot has changed the instinct is gone its now he is trying to play as if he understands but he doesnt and because of it he is lost.  2E is a big concern!!!

Menzal is going to be an amazing footballer, such a natural footballer.

I now know why MM went after daisy so badly the guy is the energy he gets around encourages gets so excited when we kick a goal runs to players high 5 the works. Something we never had now we have him and buckley. Also show his maturity when it was needed.

Just wondering was anything said on TV about our doctors and discussion with the AFL? ??

I don't disagree.

I just think you can't coach or develop indivdual hunger and desire in players - in my experience around footy a player either has it or he doesn't. Dylan looks like he has it in spades. And MM post game was glowing in praise for him and how he approaches his footy.

Unfortunately too many of our recruits seem to be seriously lacking in this area, or treat it is an 'optional extra' that comes and goes from time to time!

This could not be closer to the truth... This is and has been our biggest problem for 10 years..

Robert Heatley Stand / Re: Who will rise, stagnate or fall in 2014.
There is a player that  a lot are suggesting will fall I spent a couple of hours chatting to him and he seems to be ina very good place and really happy with our coach.

He said MM is an amazing coach and mentor spends a lot of time with everyone talking to them educating them.  Stated that unlike the previous coach who really struggled to communicate with the players outside of his leadership group.

Also said that everyone has same felling towards MM, strategically and his IP on the game in comparison to the previous as worlds apart.  Anyway we talked other things like a lack of leadership he basically agreed that the club is very limited for leaders but also mentioned the Scotto is probably the true leader of the club..

All in all I was surprised by his attitude and overall comments about MM and I think the most important thing is that the players and coaches are on the same page.  I feeling confident about this year.

The fact that the Fluffy Ducks did not pick Goodes tells me they are deadly serious about winning this game... and will throw 'everything' at us, and their 'everything' means culture impact; that means 120 minutes of stop/start pain footy. And if they are to beat us... this is their formula to get the job done.

For us to win... how do we absorb that and then stamp our authority on the contest? How do we give them something to worry about?

Simply run and spread from the contest and they wont be able to keep up.

Menzel.

fair call......who starts with the jacket on ?  McLeans probably not really an "impact" player.

Dare I say it, Chris Yarran?

Where is that old smiley of the little face darting behind the wall when you need it....

I agree the idea has merit but he's worth another chance IMO, start him across half back and give him a chance to work into the game. He did run hard from defence a few times in the second half and left his man behind, let's give him a four quarter shot at it.

Give him Jetta... Perfect match up for him it mean he plays of half back and will have the ability to play of him as Jetta is clearly lacking match fitness.

Armfield on recent form might make an ideal sub, but we may not need to decide.

McLean and others are the least of our problems, I am still hearing three outs this week!
I reckon Army needs a big job here. His speed and tackling is suited to playing the Swans.

Hannebery for Army

Yaz for Jetta

Duigan for McVeigh or Malceski

The more I think about it bringing in Goodes could be a good thing hasn’t played since round 13 so therefore you assume he is the sub and as Roos mentioned last night it means Jetta plays a full game he was the sub last week after a very long lay off..  Throw in the fact that they have played Hawks twice and Geelong once pretty taxing period.  My confidence is growing but maybe because im going and im trying to justify it.

I notice mentions of Waite also..  May be just me but if you watch the end when  we win and Hendo runs to him and jumps at him if you see Waite's reactions its like get of me my back.

Someone mentioned it already Hawks game plan made sense let them get sucked in to the contest then beat them around the outside with uncontested possession… Perfect blue print for what we have to do on the big open ground.

Mick has an amazing record against these blokes.
